Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news, I want say Mange Takk to all my loyal readers of this column over the past year. As I am out and about a lot of people tell me how much they enjoy it              

Weather news: well after surviving the deep freeze, we enjoyed fairly mild temps last week. Sunday brought some freezing rain forcing some churches in the area to cancel services

St. John’s Kongsvinger news: there will be joint services at St. John’s on January 1st at 10 a.m., no Sunday school

Other church news: burgers, beverages and blessings resumes January 4^th at 7 p.m. at the met lounge in Morris

Rev Eugene Anderson is the new interim pastor at First Lutheran Morris. Rev Dave Christenson has accepted a call to Nebraska 

Community events: Many Donnelly businesses will close early today (Saturday) some may be closed on Monday too.

The rendsville 4-h club and city council will meet on Jan 2^nd at 7pm at St. John’s church and city hall

The bookmobile will not be in town on January 2^nd next scheduled stop in January 16th

The Herman red hats’ meeting is January 2nd at 9 A.M. at AJ’s. (Gas station) in Herman

Habit for humanity fundraising pancake breakfast January 15^th at the Morris legion from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. free will offering

There are two upcoming Rising up Stevens County events: the first is a free pool party at the Regional Fitness Center pool in Morris ;January 14^th 10 a.m.-1 p.m. co-sponsored by the Donnelly rod and gun club and the second is a Hot dish cook-off on January 24^th at Faith Lutheran Morris

Death notice Judy Nelson of Morris passed away on December 21^st survivors include her son Herb (Marlene) Nelson and nephew Steve (Sue Erdahl) Nelson both of Donnelly and their families

Opal Harstad of Morris passed away on December 25^th survivors include her daughter Karen (Charles) Long of the Herman/Donnelly area and their family and her son Vedar of Morris. Her funeral is today (Saturday) at 2 p.m. at Faith-Morris

Celebrations :Tiger Gymnastics: triangular meet;  Savanah Aanerud took 1^st in all around, the bars, and on the floor ,2^nd on vault, tied for  third on the beam ;Katie Geise took 2^nd on floor, 5^th in beam  JV Shannon Kill 2^nd in vault

Tiger swimming and diving vs. Melrose/Sauck Center: Landon Strand 2^nd in the 100 breast and was part of the 200 medley team which finished 4^th; Lee Eystad   100 free (6^th)
