donnelly news

Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news. I am dedicating this issue to my aunt Pearl A. Anderson who passed away on January 20th. She was more my “mom” than my aunt. Her funeral is today (Saturday) at 2 p.m. at the Pedersen funeral home with visitation one hour before services
Weather news: we have experienced the coldest days of the winter so far during the last week with -0 temps and cold winds, and as I am writing this Wednesday evening a blizzard is predicted for Thursday a.m.
St. John's/ Kongsvinger news: at 9:30 a.m. on January 27th at St John’s there will be joint services followed by Sunday school, the St John’s annual meeting, and potluck dinner, and on February 4th at Kongsvinger followed by coffee hour and Sunday school
Our services will be broadcast on KMRS (1230) (107.7) at 11 a.m. on January 27th
Installation of church council members will be held February 10th during services at ST.  John’s
 The Bookmobile will be in town on January 28th from 3:45- 4 p.m. on Main Street

RUSC Kinship’s annual hot dish cook-off is January 28th starting at 5:15 p.m. at Faith Morris.
The Donnelly city council will meet on February 2nd at 4 p.m.
Rendsville 4-h will meet on February 4th at 7 p.m. at ST. John’s
On February 11th The Donnelly fire department will meet at 7 p.m. at the fire hall.
Herman Red Hats will meet on February 4 at 9:00 a.m. at AJ's-Herman. Bring Valentine candy to put in a heart craft box we will make.
On February 8th at 7 p.m. there will be Bar bingo sponsored by the Donnelly fire department at the Place to be-Donnelly and will continue monthly until further notice. Contact the bar or a fire department member for more info
Kourtney Maria Giese, daughter of Brad and Kristi Giese of Donnelly, MN, and Gabel Ray Hoseth, son of Cassandra and Corey Hoseth of Twin Valley, MN, are happy to announce their engagement. Her grandfather is Wally Giese of Morris. The couple will be married June 15, 2019, at Faith Lutheran Church in Morris, MN.
Noah Jay Sayles was born December 22, 2018, at Alomere Health to Kirby and Alissa Sayles of Morris, MN. Noah weighed 8 lbs. 0 oz., and was 20.5 inches long. Grandparents are Dan and Casey Sayles of Morris, MN, Penny Melberg and Keith Wetzel of Morris, MN, and Jay and Laurie Melberg of Ashby, MN. Great-grandparents are Wally and Alice Sayles of Clinton, MN, Audray and Nancy Henrichs of Donnelly, MN, and Bob and Sharon Melberg of Chokio, MN.
Brady Cardwell recently earned his 50th career pin as a tiger wrestler.
Past week final visit to my aunt Pearl in her room at the courage cottage, ice fishing tournament at Pomme De Lake, annual meeting at Kongsvinger, bible study at GSLC, BBB at the met lounge.
