donnelly news

Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news, I have decided to wait until next week for my annual grad issue


Weather news most of the last week has been cloudy, cool and rainy ,I talked to a former neighbor on Sunday he said they had only one field to put in yet, see some crops are already up

St. John’s Kongsvinger news: The summer schedule starts May 28th with joint services at St.  John’s at 10 a.m.; continues on May 31st at 7 p.m. at Kongsvinger, and June 4th at Kongsvinger.  A complete schedule can be found in the May newsletter, copies are available at both churches, the po in Donnelly, or from the parish office

GSLC news: Wednesday evening services start on June 7th at 7 p.m.
VBS will be held on June 26-29th at GS in conjunction with Zion-Morris again this year to ensure a t-shirt sign up by May 29th

Community news:  On June 5th the Bookmobile will be in Donnelly on Main St from 3:45-4 p.m.,

Herman Red Hats meet June 5th, at 9 a.m. at AJ's in Herman. Please bring photo of your dad 

RUSC Kinship Growing Kids and Kinship Garden Gala and patio dedication will be held at the Pomme de Park on June 8th from 5-7:30 p.m.
The Stevens county genealogical society will meet the Morris museum June 1st at 1:30 p.m. note change of location from previous meetings. More info 585-6435
City council meets on June 3rd at 4 p.m.
There will be an open house bridal shower in honor of Stacy Fussy, bride-to-be of Justin Koehntop, from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 3, at the Morris Eagles Backroom. Everyone is welcome. His parents are Dan and Jeanne Koehntop of Donnelly, Tom and Kelly Classen of Chokio, his grandmother is Lois Koehntop of Donnelly


Death notices: Edna Mae Niss of Wheaton passed away on May 20th; survivors include her niece Linda (Dick) Wente of Donnelly and their family.
Committal services for former Donnelly area resident Marilyn Hagen of California, will be held on June 13th at 11 a.m. at the Kongsvinger Lutheran cemetery of rural Donnelly

Tiger Soft ball team west Central conference champs: Brooke Gillespie is a member of that team
Tiger trap shooting: Brady Cardwell earned his first 25-straight patch on Saturday, May 13.
Past wk. visit to my aunt Pearl in her apt.; services for Jim Weinreis at WWV, birthday party for Helen Peterson at Buddies Bar and Grill, lefse dragen in Starbuck; visit to Donna Frank, Norm and Ramona Olsen in their homes, Agralite annual meeting- Benson, Bible study at GS (w/Eystads) and BBB at the Met Lounge
