Weather news it has been a nice week a lot of corn has been picked but still a lot get done was told moistures is about 18-19%

St. John’s Kongsvinger news a DVD of Kong 140th is available to check out from the parish office

Honey sales have begun again by confirmation students; they will be selling them before and after services at Kongsvinger on Sundays through Nov. and at the Kongsvinger fall festival on Nov. 20



Fall festival  planning meeting on Oct 24th at the Kongsvinger parish hall at 6:30 pm, workdays are Nov. 2nd Norwegian sweets day @ 4 pm, November 12 lefse making day @ 9 am November 16th leffsa make making day 2 at 4 pm



Confirmation faith statements will be presented on Oct. 26th at 6:30 pm at St John’s we have 2 Confirmands this year.

Third graders receiving bible this yr. were Addison Cihak, Scarlett Bergstrom McGee, Bryce Lehman, Lydia Pollard, and Hunter Smith

GSLC news “A man called Luther” will be a five part Adult Ed course starting on October 30th; it will also be new member sun.



The movie “Where Luther Walked” will be shown on October 30th at 10:40 a.m. at First Lutheran-Morris,

34th Annual St. Mary’s Bazaar in Chokio is this Saturday, October 22nd from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Scandinavian heritage dinner at First Lutheran –Morris Nov 2nd starting at 3 pm tickets available at the door

Please get the word out about the first of our Reformation Celebration Events that will take place on Reformation Sunday, October 30th. The Reformation Celebration Kick-Off Event will be from 3-5 pm at LWLC -Alexandria MN from 3-4 pm there will be fellowship time, with Coffee and Cookies being served. At 4 pm there will be a skit entitled “Martin and Katie”, featuring Johan and Sonja Hinderlie, formerly of Mount Carmel Ministries of Alexandria. Please make sure you invite people to join you for this event… as we join Martin Luther in declaring, “Here we stand; we cannot do otherwise. God help us. Amen

Death notice: Dorothy I. Achterlingof n st Paul passed away on Oct 10th survivors include her sister Betty (Cliff) Johnson of Donnelly

Dorothy Kiser of Sebeka passed away on Oct 16th survivors include her daughter Sue Erdahl- Nelson (Steve) of Donnelly and her family

Reverend Lloyd C. Kallevig of Wadena passed away on Oct. 13th his brother Emil was pastor at Kongsvinger in the ‘50’s

On October 24th the bookmobile will be in town on Main St. from 3:45- 4 p.m.,





Rockin C horse will be open every Sunday next year (May –Oct.) from 11-5



These events are happening today (Sat): Post nuptial wedding shower for Justin and Alina (Lena) Janachovsky will be held from 10:00 a.m. until noon at St. John’s Church in Donnelly. Couple is registered at Bed, Bath and Beyond and Home Depot. Everyone is welcome!  His parents are Mark and Karen Janachovsky grandfather is Milfred Kaehler



There will be an open house baby shower for Jessica (Nohl) and Taylor Witt at the Morris Evangelical Free church from 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. her parents are Tracy (Loge) and Ray Nohl

Donnelly community club had their final meeting of the year on Oct 17th it was a very good year for us. Our next meeting is the annual meeting tentatively scheduled for January; keep an eye on the community bulletin board in the park for info about upcoming events i.e. Halloween and Christmas parties. Reminder next year’s Bee is Aug. 26th & 27th the feature will be Allis Chalmers

Brooke Gilespie is a member of the tiger vb team that is wcc co-champ and received the section 3AA #1 seed, her mother Judy is an ast. Coach,
Savannah Aanerud is a member of the tiger cross country that won the west central conference championship she finished 19th.
Levin Stand is a member of the tiger fb team that was named Minnesota Football Program of the Year, they were also conference runner-up’s

Oct 15th I represented GSLC at the installation service for Rev Fran Hill at St John's-Starbuck
