July 2nd-8th

Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news
Weather news: it has been hot and dry the past week irrigators are going full force. So far crops look good
Due to the 4th of July holiday there will be no mail delivery on Monday and most business in the Donnelly area will be closed
St John’s/Kongsvinger news:  the annual Independence Day celebration will be held at Kongsvinger on July 4th starting with a flag rising, at 11 am followed by a pot luck dinner and fellowship. Ice cream, bread, and beverages furnished everyone is welcome free will offering
ST. JOHN’S WELCA will meet on Tuesday, July 12, at 1:30 p.m. at St. John’s. Please note the change of date!
July 17th services time will switch with services at St. John’s Sundays at 9 am and wow at Kongsvinger at 7 pm
There will be 140th aniv celebration for Kong in Sept.
Good Shepherd news: as part of their fundraiser for the stork bus Alexandra’s miracle mission has a collection box at Gs (and other churches in the area) for Willie’s paper bags
There will be a gospel sing along in Hancock at the Alexis center on July 3rd at 7 pm sponsored by the Christian reformed church
Rob Lucus, the manager of the Morris Pizza Ranch, has graciously given “Friends of Alex permission to have an lemonade and goodies stand every Wednesday from 11am-1 pm in front of Pizza Ranch all summer long. So come out and have a drink and goody and all of the money with help Alexandra's Miracle Mission


Community news:  due to the 4th of July the Donnelly city council and Rendsville 4-h will meet on July 5th at city hall and St. John’s at 7pm
The community club will meet on July 11 at 7 pm at the city hall as we continue to make plans for the bee and other events
Starting on July  1stand running through the 15th applications will be taken for little Miss Donnelly (8-10) and Threshing Bee queen (14-18) applications can be dropped off at boxes in HD & Co Donnelly Co-op or post office or email to werkcrew@runestone.net or lsdunn@runestone.net
RUSC Kinship is looking for volunteers to help with pizza sales at our booth for Prairie Pioneer Days.  If you would be willing to help, please contact the office at 589-7872.  Thank you!

There will be a 90th birthday party for a former Donnelly area resident  (Bernice Erdahl)on July 9th from noon-2 pm at the sr. center in Morris
