Next edition Sept. 6^th-13^th

Welcome another edition of the Donnelly news;

Weather news: since I was out of town most of the weekend I do not know what the weather was like here except that we had a light rain much of the day Thursday and we thankfully escaped the hailstorm they had in Alex Mon eve. Did have some rain on Wed afternoon here too

In St. John’s/ Kongsvinger news: Rally Sunday will be on Sept 7^th at St John’s with ss at 9:00 a.m. with service projects until 10:45 a.m. and services at 11 a.m. (ss kids will be singing). At noon there will be an appetizer and salad potluck and a picnic lunch provided.  In the aft there will be an open house at the parsonage.

St Charles –Herman fall festival is on Sept 7^{th    at} the legion in Herman beginning at 11 a.m.

Open house at the new apostolic church north in Morris by Jerry’s u-save Sept 14^th starting with worship at 12:15 followed by tours of the new building and lunch

Sept 8^th the city council, Rendsville 4-h, fire dept. and Community club will meet at 7 p.m. at various locations in Donnelly.

The school board will be meeting in Donnelly in Oct instead of Sept as originally announced.

Niemackl Lake Park Day will be held September 14th out at the Park There will be a Free Will Offering Meal of BBQ’s, Hot Dogs, Baked Beans, Chips, Cookies and Beverage. Serving will begin at 10:30 a.m.. In case of bad weather park day will be held at the 4-H building at the Grant County Fairground. The park is about halfway between Donnelly and Herman

Donnelly rod and gun club turkey shoot 9/14 at 11 a.m. at Harstad slough on the NW corner of Donnelly.

New school year means fall sports. Morris invite cc meet; girls finished 4^th Savanah Aanerud finished 13^th, Becca Holland 28^th; Auddy Sperr (Don and Tammy) finished 16^th in the JV 2k run. The Boys finished 9^th, Dalton Lupke finished 60^th. Lac qui Parle Valley / Dawson-Boyd meet girls 3^rd, Savanah 6^th, Becca 20^th, JV 4 k Auddy 9^th; boys 5^th, Dalton 34th

Riley Biesterfeld is one of the tiger fb co-captains; Gabi Nienhaus is one of the Hancock owl vb co-Captains.

Gordon Hill of Sioux Falls SD passed away on Aug 26^th survivors include his sister Joanne (Arven) Graff and their family. 

Frieda Bachman of Northfield passed away on Aug 30^th she was preceded in death by her son-in-law former Donnelly resident Leon Waller

Past week I attended the community picnic/expo that was moved the Morris area h.s gym due to rain and spent most of the weekend at the threshing show in Rollag. It was a great show but a lot of walking up and down hills. Mark and I helped out with the NAPS distribution.
