In St.
John’s/ Kongsvinger news: the regular schedule with services at St John’s at
8:30 a.m. and Kongsvinger at 11 a.m. with ss at Kongsvinger at 9:45 a.m. will
continue until further notice
Good
Shepherd news: the regular schedule with
services at 9 a.m. followed by coffee fellowship and ss at 10:30 a.m. will
continue until further notice Adult Ed is on the first and third Sundays
during Sunday school time.
Greif
share program at the Morris Evangelical Free Church every Mon. eve at 7 p.m.

Faith Lutheran’s
fall rummage sale will be held on September 24th beginning at 4 p.m.
St Mary’s school centennial
celebration is Sept. 19 and 20th, Assumption Church’s September fest is Sept.
21st beginning with a mass at 10 a.m. continuing with a dinner and
other activities though out the aft. Contact the church for more info about
either event
The school
board will be meeting in Donnelly on Oct 20th at 6 p.m. instead of
Sept 22nd as originally announced.
MN DNR will
have a meeting in Donnelly Oct 2nd.at city hall from 6-8 p.m. about
fishing regulations in Cottonwood Lake
There will be
a meeting at the hall on Sept. 24 at 7p.m. about the new water meters in Donnelly.
Former Donnelly area
resident Emilie Anna Matejka of Richville MN passed away on Sept 3rd
survivors include her husband Clearance Matejka. There will be no funeral
services.
Former Donnelly area
resident Mark Mich of Wayzata passed away on Aug 22nd
Harold Hillbrand of
Herman passed away on Sept 14th survivors include his son former
Donnelly area resident Ed Hillbrand and his family
Gladys D. (Woodke)
Brown, passed away Saturday, September 6, in Grand Rapids MN survivors include
her niece Nancy (Brian) Olson of Morris.
Marlys Geise of the Herman/Donnelly
area passed away on Sept 15th. Survivors include her husband Wally.
Colin Charles Flaten
was born on August 29, 2014 at Stevens Community Medical Center, Morris, to
Justin and Carrie Flaten of Hancock. Grandparents are Chuck and Pat Dingman of
Morris and Harvey and Mary Flaten of Hancock. Great-grandparents are Eddie and
Lou Kopel of Donnelly and Millie Dingman of Morris.
Air Force Airman
Landon J. Strand graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San
Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. Strand is the son of Jason and Jodi Strand of Herman. He is
also the grandson of Cathy Han of Rapid City, Minn. and Gary Ritzchke of
Herman, and of Vern L. Strand of Donnelly.

During the past week
I attended the reopening open house at the Morris public
library; visitation
for G Irene Larson in Alex (her son in law was my neighbor on the farm for many
years), the Haining family concert in Elbow Lake;
visited with former Donnelly resident Elroy Frank at his home in Alex, and a
friend in the Bethany home in Alex, spent some time at Big Iron in West Fargo,
and much of the weekend at the pioneer power show in Albany
En route home from
Fargo I stopped into visitation for Marvin Andersen at the United Methodist
church in Herman (Jim & Lou Eystad attended his memorial service there) and
the forum with Bp. Anderson at St John’s.
