Other than moving the church services indoor all other threshing bee activities went on as scheduled despite some off and on  rain showers during the day on Saturday ,thankfully the heavy rains held off until we were done on Sat eve.  Good to see a lot of familiar faces around the grounds again especially some of the former Donnelly area residents that were home for it. My cart developed problems so I did not get around the grounds as much as I would like to have to see people. Reminder next year we will be celebrating our 50th on Aug. 29th and 30th and featuring everything made in 1965. I was among those who helped with taking down fences and putting things away on Aug 26th.
Again this year I helped out   at the feed my starving children packing event at the Morris area Elementary school cafeteria. It was again a reminder of how blessed we are in the USA compared to other countries and how a few hours of time can make a huge difference in the lives of children overseas.
John Ruff and his daughters Shawna Ruff and   Deb Goeke all of TX left for home Monday after spending some time visiting John’s sister Lou Eystad and other family and friends  in the area and attending the bee
Some others that I saw that spent some time visiting family and friends and attending the bee over the weekend were Odell and Joann (Frank) Christianson, Gayle Gibson and family, Mark and Dan Frank ;Laurie Hofer Dennis and Glen Kruize, Arlene Fults and some members of their family.
In past several weeks I have attended the North Central Lab field day, the Morris co-op plot day that got moved indoors due to the rain and visitation and funeral for Joyce Steuck.
Note for personal reasons I will be doing my 9/13 column early so if you have any news for me I will need it by the 9th.
