Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news. Note I have an early deadline next week (November 26th) Most Donnelly business will not be open on Thanksgiving Day 
Weather news: many farmers in the area took advantage of a relatively dry week to get a lot of corn picked. Most fields around here have been harvested, but up north by Elbow Lake still a lot to be picked yet. A lot of fall tillage going on too
In the news from the ST. John's/ Kongsvinger Parish: joint services at 9:30 a.m. on the first 1st,3rd, and 5th Sundays at Kongsvinger, the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month at St John's followed by Sunday school and Coffee fellowship. Communion services are on the 1st and 4th Sundays of the month.
"Where's the beef dinner" raffle at St. John's is going on now tickets may purchase from any St. John's member or at the parish office. The Drawing will be on December 8th during coffee hr.
KLCW advent brunch at 10:30 a.m. on December 1st at Kongsvinger following the church service about 10:30 a.m. all (men and women) are welcome

John Ruff and his daughter deb of TX returned home last week after spending some time in the area visiting his sister Lou Eystad and other family and friends in the area
Bookmobile in town on Main St., December 4th from 2:45-3 p.m. note new time
Santa day in Donnelly at the community hall is December 14th starting with a noon meal by the community club. Santa will be arriving at about 1 p.m.
Dfd meets on December 9th and 16th at 7 p.m. at the fire hall
Rendsville 4-h meets on December 2nd at 6:30 p.m. at St. John’s
Pedersen funeral home service of remembrance December 8th, 2 p.m. at the funeral home in Morris
there will be an Open house for expected baby daughter of Carrie Roske of Morris formerly of Donnelly  on November 23rd at faith Morris 9 a.m.-noon
Marlos E. (Schwensohn) Bacon, of Herman, passed away on November 17th survivors include her daughter Marylin (Jerry) Underwood of Marshall Jerry is a former Donnelly resident
Former Donnelly area resident Ron Holdgrafer of Schaumburg IL passed away on November 14th. His brother was the late cartoonist Delmar Holdgrafer of Donnelly
Harrison Alexandra smith was born on November 9th to Myles smith of Donnelly and Casandra Anderson of Morris. His parents are Mike and Rhoda Smith of Donnelly
Former Donnelly area residents Irene (Braun) Raths of Morris passed away on November 19th.
Herman red hatters will have their Christmas party on December 2nd at the broken paddle in Herman at 11 am turkey dinner will be served
Open house baby shower for Danny & Kate Ennen will be held on December 14th from 10 am until noon at the Kongsvinger parish hall
Past week meatball supper faith Morris a visit to Jim and Lou Eystad at the WWV along with her brother John ruff and his daughter Deb from TX. Annual meeting at Gs w/Lou Eystad GS men's event at Reed Peterson's, a visit to Helen Peterson at the Barrett care center

Weather news: the  the past week has been cold, but dry farmers are busy picking corn still a a lot out there yet
In the news from the ST. John's/ Kongsvinger Parish: joint services at 9:30 a.m. on the first 1st,3rd, and 5th Sundays at Kongsvinger, the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month at St John's followed by Sunday school and Coffee fellowship. Communion services are on the 1st and 4th Sundays of the month.
Kongsvinger Fall festival is on November 24th, starting at 11 a.m. in preparation for it, there will be a lefse making days on November 20th at 4 p.m.

Janice Eystad Johnson of Anoka passed away on October 31st survivors include her brother Jamey (Kathy), Robert (Bernie) and sister in law Donna and their families of Donnelly

There will be an Open house bridal shower for Kristi Kopel bride to be of Breden Douglas on November 18th, 1-4 p.m. at faith –Morris. She is the daughter of Mike and Joanie Kopel of Donnelly
John Ruff and his daughter deb of TX have spent some time here recently visiting his sister Lou Eystad other family and friends in the area

Nov 5th-11th.
Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news. I am dedicating this week's column to the memory of my mom's sister Mabel Van Olst who passed away on November 18th, 2002.
A week of sunny, dry weather has enabled most farmers in the area to make good progress in getting the crops harvested. Most of the bean harvest in the area is done, and they are working on getting the corn picked.
In the news from the ST. John's/ Kongsvinger Parish: joint services at 9:30 a.m. on the first 1st,3rd, and 5th Sundays at Kongsvinger the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month at St John's followed by Sunday school and coffee fellowship. Communion services are on the 1st and 4th Sundays of the month. r. Kongsvinger Fall festival is on November 24th, starting at 11 a.m.
There will be a Scandinavian heritage festival at first Lutheran Morris on November 6th, starting at 3:30 p.m.

BBB will be on hiatus until early Jan.

Former Donnelly area resident Vivian Jean Graff of Litchfield passed away on October 19th; local survivors include her brother Paul (Betty) Sperr of Donnelly and their family
Former Donnelly area resident Greta (Delong) Mogler of Morris passed away on October 23rd.
Brylee Dee Michaelson was born September 26th, 2019, at Douglas County Hospital, Alexandria, MN, to Michael and Jade Michaelson. Brylee weighed 5 lbs. 11 oz. and was 18 1/2 inches long. Grandparents are Tim and Jeannie Michaelson of Morris, MN, and Dan and Tammy Bruna of Brookings, SD.

Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news. This issue is dedicated to the memory of my dad Emil Anderson who passed away October 31st 2005
 A few days of sunshine last week allowed farmers to get some more crops harvested but this week has started out cold wet and rainy
In the news from the ST. John's/ Kongsvinger Parish: joint services at 9:30 a.m. on the first 1st,3rd, and 5th Sundays at Kongsvinger the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month at St John's followed by Sunday school and coffee fellowship. Communion services are on the 1st and 4th Sundays of the month. No Sunday school November 3rd and 10th. The Parish trunk and treat event will be held on October 31st on the west side of ST. John's starting at 5 p.m.
There will be a special congregational meeting following the 9:30 a.m. services at Kongsvinger on November 3rd to authorize repairs on the church and parish hall roofs that were damaged in the hail storm last summer.

The Annual Donnelly Halloween party will be held at the community hall on October 31st, starting at 5 p.m.
There will be a Scandinavian heritage festival at first Lutheran Morris on November 6th, starting at 3:30 p.m.
Federated church trunk or treat on October 31st, 5–7 p.m.
The following events will take place at Neimackl Lake Park: the Haunted woods trail of terror on October 25th, starting at dusk -9 p.m. and the family fun festival October 26th at the park about halfway between Donnelly and Herman.

Hadley Jo Kampmeier was born on October 15th to Max and Sydney Kampmeier of Chokio grandparents include Joel and Jamie Beyer of Chokio great-grandmother is Carol Wilcock of Morris

Oct.22nd-28th
Cold rain/snow made for kind of a miserable weekend. This week started out sunny, but the past few days have cloudy and cold. Harvest has come to a halt for the time being.
In the news from the S.T. John's/ Kongsvinger Parish: joint services at 9:30 a.m. on the first 1st,3rd, and 5th Sundays at Kongsvinger the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month at St John's followed by Sunday school and coffee fellowship. Communion services are on the 1st and 4th Sundays of the month. No Sunday school November 3rd & 10th.Sunday school Halloween event on October 27th during services and S.S. parish trunk & treat event on Oct 31st west side of S.T. John's
A special congregational meeting will be held following the 9:30 a.m. services on November 3rd. The purpose of the meeting is to authorize repairs on the church and parish hall roofs that were damaged in the hail storm last summer.

Donnelly community club had their monthly mtg on October 14th, after the meeting we enjoyed coffee & cake in honor of Corrine Kruize's birthday. Figures from the bee show we had a fair year despite the rain. Next year's show is August 29th & 30th feature is ford and massy Ferguson
Former Donnelly area resident Sharon (Wente) Smith of Barhamsville, Virginia, passed away on October 3rd Local survivors include her sister sandy (Les) Kopel of Donnelly and her mother Norma Wente of Morris. There will be a private family service and burial at Summit Cemetery in Morris, MN, at a later date.
Bob Trost of Fergus passed away on October 13th local survivors include his brother in law Wally (Peggy) Horning of the Chokio/Donnelly area.

Oct. 15th-21st
The weather has been sunny & mild this wk. hopefully dry things up enough for farmers to get some harvest done seen some bean and corn have been picked as well as some sugar beets.
In the news from the ST. John's/ Kongsvinger Parish: joint services at 9:30 a.m. on the first 1st,3rd, and 5th Sundays at Kongsvinger the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month at St John's followed by Sunday school and coffee fellowship. Communion will be held on the 1st and 4th Sundays of the month. Oct 20th is Gideon Sunday, but there will be no Sunday school that Sunday. Sunday school Halloween event on Oct 27th during services and S.S. parish trunk & treat event on Oct 31st west side of ST. John’s Oct.
  ON October 16 the ARC Stevens County's will have their annual noon luncheon and bake sale, from 9:00 to 1:00 at the American Legion in Morris.

 Donnelly Fire Department meets on October 21st at 7 p.m. in the fire hall. 
 Prayers go out to Jim Eystad, who had a stroke on September 25 and is currently in the West wind village in Morris
Bruce Pollard of Morris passed away on Oct 6th survivors include his granddaughter’s Destiny & Lydia of Donnelly

The weather has been cold and damp.

 St John's fall festival October 12th from 10:30 a.m. -1 p.m.; bake, card, rummage sales; raffle and lunch
 Luther Crest annual meeting on October 12th starting with treats at 9:00 a.m. in the chapel at Luther Crest -Alex
 The Zion Lutheran Church of Morris Fall Bazaar will be on October 12th, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Gatherings for Widows and Widowers will meet for lunch at noon on Sunday, October 13, in the basement of Old #1 in Morris.
 ON October 16th, the ARC Stevens County's will have their annual noon luncheon and bake sale, from 9:00 to 1:00 at the American Legion in Morris.
