donnelly news


Nov 5th-11th.
Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news. I am dedicating this week's column to the memory of my mom's sister Mabel Van Olst who passed away on November 18th, 2002.
A week of sunny, dry weather has enabled most farmers in the area to make good progress in getting the crops harvested. Most of the bean harvest in the area is done, and they are working on getting the corn picked.
In the news from the ST. John's/ Kongsvinger Parish: joint services at 9:30 a.m. on the first 1st,3rd, and 5th Sundays at Kongsvinger the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month at St John's followed by Sunday school and coffee fellowship. Communion services are on the 1st and 4th Sundays of the month. r. Kongsvinger Fall festival is on November 24th, starting at 11 a.m.
There will be a Scandinavian heritage festival at first Lutheran Morris on November 6th, starting at 3:30 p.m.

BBB will be on hiatus until early Jan.
Donnelly city council meets on November 2nd at 4 p.m. at the council chambers in Donnelly
The Stevens county genealogical society meets on November 7th at 1:30 p.m. at the library
 Rocking with Kinship featuring "Elvis" November 8th starting with dinner at 5:30 p.m. show at 7 p.m. at Old # 1 Southside
No More community club meetings until next year
DFD annual turkey bingo is on November 22nd at the hall starting at 7 p.m.
Former Donnelly area resident Vivian Jean Graff of Litchfield passed away on October 19th; local survivors include her brother Paul (Betty) Sperr of Donnelly and their family
Former Donnelly area resident Greta (Delong) Mogler of Morris passed away on October 23rd.
Brylee Dee Michaelson was born September 26th, 2019, at Douglas County Hospital, Alexandria, MN, to Michael and Jade Michaelson. Brylee weighed 5 lbs. 11 oz. and was 18 1/2 inches long. Grandparents are Tim and Jeannie Michaelson of Morris, MN, and Dan and Tammy Bruna of Brookings, SD.
