Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.

Well, I have decided to start listing "normal" meetings; however, please check with somebody beforehand to find out for sure if a scheduled meeting is still on. I do not believe the bookmobile has restarted its visits to area towns yet. Date and time of next community club mtg TBA dfd is meeting 2 & 3rd Mon of the month, Rendsville 4-H is TBA.

Weather News, some timely rains have given crops a boost; fortunately, we did not experience the damage they did in the el area.

ST. John's/Kongsvinger news: tentative schedule subject to change: service of the word on Aug 30th at Kongsvinger Sept. schedule TBA All services are at 9:30 am, for a drive-in services tune into 98.5 on your car radio.

. No other activities will take place in either church until further notice.

Rev. Rochelle Anderson of Morris will be providing pastoral care until further notice, if you need care, contact the parish office or one of the church presidents. You can also watch our "virtue" services on Facebook and YouTube.

The parish office is closed due to the COVID 19 outbreak, call 246-3211, or e-mail (stjKongsvinger@runestone.net) or send mail (box 97) when assistance is needed.

ST. John's is looking to borrow a trail camera after somebody ran a thousand gallons of water through their meter.  If you have one, please contact the parish office.

St. John's is having a quilt and more raffle drawing. On Sept 27th, the Drawing will take place following services. You can purchase tickets from any WELCA member.

Other Church news, Faith-Morris now has outdoor worship Sun at 9 am first-Morris is at 9:30 am.

The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church schedule: there will be no more outdoor services in Aug. they will resume in Sept.

The Rendsville 4-h club is looking for volunteers to weed/maintain/water the rain garden in Donnelly by the fire hall as they are unable to do it themselves due to COVID 19. Thanks to the members, advisors, and parents for all the hard work they have put into making Donnelly look beautiful this year

Canceled the 2020 papa's angels fundraiser plans are to return in Sept. of 2021. The Stevens county genealogical society will not meet again until next yr.

Funeral services for Loiann Frank are on Aug.29th at 11 am at Shalom Lutheran Church, Alex mn. She passed away in Jan of '20.

Gene Kummrow, of Raymond mn formerly of Morris, passed away on Mar 14th; survivors include his son Keven (Sherrie Fults) and their family. She is a former Donnelly area resident. He was a long time member of the threshing Bee family; His funeral will be on Sept 12th at 11 am at Zion Morris.

Robert (Bob) Tommolla of Morris formerly of the Donnelly area passed away on Aug 18th; survivors, including his wife Myrna Duwenhoegger, are also a former Donnelly area resident.

Congrats to the Morris eagles’ bb team that qualified for the state tournament recently, players include Bryce & Brady Jergenson. The Clinton Cards are also going to the state they drafted Chandler Erickson for their team.

Lacee Jo Maanum and riley biesterfeld were married at gslc on Aug. 15th

There is no threshing bee this year; however, we are having a cash raffle to raise some money. Everyone in the Donnelly area should have gotten a letter with tickets and details, if you did not stop into the Donnelly co-op and get some or contact one of the officers. Drawing will be held on Aug 30th at 5 pm on the grounds. I also have a few for sale. Also, I have some tickets to sell from the Dalton and Albany shows

Helm's fabric in Morris is going out of business and closing their doors for good by the end of August.
