Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.
Weather News: we had another winter storm over the weekend (17-19th), meaning most schools in the area canceled classes on Fri. Many businesses were closed or had limited hrs. Etc. Many churches canceled services on Sunday a.m., so much of the weekend was spent digging out.
Donnelly church news: There will be joint services at 9:30 a.m. on the first 1st,3rd, and 5th Sundays at Kongsvinger, the 2nd, and 4th Sundays of the month at St John's followed by Sunday school and coffee fellowship.
Communion services are on the 1st and 4th Sundays of the month
Kongsvinger's postponed annual meeting is on February 2nd after services followed by a pot luck dinner
No KLCW in February
Broadcasts available for sponsorship in 2020 are 4/26, 7/5, 9/13 and 12/13. To sponsor one contact the parish office.
Pr Mike Nelson, who has been the parish pastor for 4+ years, has announced he is retiring and will be leaving Donnelly in May.
Good Shepherd Lutheran church news: the church is looking for a new secretary if interested contact the church at 585-6868
The sermon is broadcast every Sunday on KKOK 95.7 at10:30 a.m.
Tuesday A.M. bible studies have resumed, adult Ed will resume later this year
BBB will continue at 7 p.m. at the Fireside restaurant in Morris on Wednesday evenings until Ash Wednesday.
The Bookmobile will be in town on Main St on February 10th from 2:45–3 p.m. note new time
No Donnelly community club or Stevens county Genealogical society meetings until spring
Bar Bingo at the place to be in Donnelly on February 21st
Rendsville 4-h at 6:30 p.m. at St John's on February 3rd.
The city council meets on February 1st at 4 p.m. in the city hall.
DFD meets on February 10th and 17th at 7 p.m. at the fire hall
On February 18th at Faith-Morris, RUSC Kinship will have their annual warm hearts and hot dishes event. I attended their open house on January 14th and I learned there is going to be another open house next month
Habit for Humanity fundraising breakfast on January 26th at the legion-Morris 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. free will donation
There will be an open house 90th birthday party for Andy Brevig at Kongsvinger in February
Herman red hats meet on February 3rd at 9 a.m. at AJ's Herman
Paul Jost of Alex formerly of Morris passed away on January 16th. He served the Donnelly area as a board member of the Agralite co-op for 21 years in the ’70s and ‘80’s
Arnold Ennen of the Herman area passed away on January 17th survivors include his son Dale (Jeanne) Ennen and family of the Donnelly area
 Loianne Frank of Sauk Rapids passed away on January 18th. Survivors include her husband, former Donnelly resident Elroy Frank of Waite Park. If you wish to send him a sympathy card, his address is 500 3rd St. S. #122 Waite Park MN 56387. A memorial /committal service will be held later this year in Alex
Congrats to Les Kopel Donnelly, who was recently named the fair person of the year for district seven at the Minnesota Association of county fairs meeting held recently in the cities.
Congrats to Jackson Loge of the MAHS tiger BB team on joining the 1,000 point club recently.

New address: Jim and Lou Eystad C% of the Legacy 622 E 7th St. room 150 Morris MN 56267. For those of you have not heard he had a stroke a few months ago
Some former Donnelly area residents recently celebrated some significant milestones David Jergenson celebrated his 102 birthday, Bertha Larson her 98th, and Jim and Lou Eystad their 66th wedding anniversary.
Past week services at 1st Lutheran Morris, MLK Community meal at MAES, bible study at gslc, Jost visitation -Alex. Everything else was canceled or PPD due to the weather.

January 21st, Wally McCollar and I attended the benefit for Randy and Lujean theilke at the Hancock school.
