donnelly news

May 5th-11th
Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news
Weather news: well temps have been relatively mild for most of the past wk. Some strong winds have made it feel cold. Saw a few farmers had been out in the field, I am unsure if there have been any crops planted yet.
St. John's/ Kongsvinger news: There will be an open house bridal shower for Katie Skadeland bride to be of Danny Ennen today (Saturday) at Kongsvinger 9:30-11:30 a.m.
On May 6th at during services at Kongsvinger, there will be a dedication of the barbed wire cross given in memory of David Haynes and the defibrillator provided in memory of Steve Larson. It is also cradle roll Sunday and adopted grandparents day at Sunday school
There will be a special congregational meeting at St. John’s following services on May 6th, to vote on a change in the constitution to reduce the number needed for a quorum for a meeting; however, 20 members still need to be present for this meeting
Baccalaureate Sunday will be held on May 20th, starting with Brunch at 10 A.M. followed by joint services at 11 A.M. at St John’s, we have one H.S. graduate from each Church this year. If you have an H.S. or a Higher Ed grad this year, please let the parish office know ASAP. Also, I tentatively plan to have my annual graduation recognition column on June 2nd, so if you do have any graduates, please let me know too
I will have info about the summer service schedule in future columns, or you can contact the church office for more info.
 GSLC NEWS There will be a steeple dedication during the May 6th service
Muffins for moms on May 13th during coffee fellowship a free will offering to raise money for new playground equipment
Other church news: On Saturday, May 12 from 9:30 until 11:30 there will be a Ladies Brunch to celebrate Mother’s Day in the dining hall at Faith Lutheran.
Pancake breakfast at 1st-Morris May 12th 10:40 a.m.
The Federated women’s fellowship supper will be held on May 8th at 6 pm speakers will be Penny & Paul Rhoda “trip to the holy land.”

 The City council meets today (Saturday) at 4 p.m. at city hall
The Bookmobile will be in town on May 7th on Main St. at 3:45-4 p.m. The Rendsville 4-h meets at 7 p.m. at St. John’s
Herman Red Hats will meet May 7th at 11:00 a.m. at Hunan Spring Restaurant in Fergus Falls
An open house 50th wedding anniversary for Barry and Donna Gades will be held today (Saturday) from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Hotel 200 Pool Area. No gifts, please.
Widows and widowers will meet on May 6th for noon lunch in the basement of the old# one there is an elevator in front of the building
On May 14th at 7 p.m. the Donnelly community club and the firemen meet at city hall and fire hall
