Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news
Weather news: As I am writing this on Tue. morning, it is
the first day of spring, but it looks more like the first day of winter outside
with several inches of snow on the ground, and they are also talking more snow
for this weekend.
St. John's/ Kongsvinger news: Joint services at St John’s on March 25 at 11
a.m., Sunday school will meet at St John’s that day at 9:45 a.m., and be
singing at services that day
Bridges of Hope, a support group for those grieving the loss
of a loved one is being held Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m., and Tuesdays at 10:
00 a.m., call the funeral home for information
Gslc news: Holy week Services: March 25th Palm Sunday services,
and confirmation at 9 a.m. March 29th
and 30th services at 7 p.m., Easter Sunday at 9 a.m.
There will be a Choir for Community Tenebrae Service on Good
Friday, March 30 at 7:00P.m.at Assumption Church in Morris. Please call Linda
Hodgson with any questions or to let her know you would like to participate at
320-287-1027. The final rehearsal will be Sunday evening March 25 at 6:00 P.m.
There is a Easter egg hunt at Hosanna Worship Center March
31st at 11 a.m.
The "This and That" sale will be held at the
Federated church today (Saturday) 9 a.m. -12:30 P.m.
Dakota Road in concert on April 7th at 6:30 p.m. at
faith-Morris, CROP walk on April 8th starting with registration at about 12:30
p.m. at the Federated Church
There will be a Palm Sunday breakfast at Faith at 9:30 a.m.
Casey's Courage! Be the Match! March 25th, 1-4 P.m. at Faith
Lutheran Morris (Casey Lesmeister) There will be a silent auction and bake sale
on Sunday, March 25 at Faith Lutheran Church during the “Be the Match” drive,
with the proceeds going to the Lesmeister family. If you are willing to donate
some baked goods or silent auction items that would wonderful! Silent auction
items can be dropped off at the church during their business hours M-F and
baked goods can be dropped off Sunday A.M. before their 8:45 a.m. service.
Please have baked goods packaged for sale.
Donnelly Community Club, Inc. is giving away a 50th
Anniversary Donnelly Threshing Bee Hoodie on April 1, 2018. And that's no
fooling! Anyone who signs up and pays for a membership by April 1 will have
their name entered in the drawing for the hoodie. Memberships are $10 per
person and payment needs to be paid to the DCCI Treasurer by April 1 to qualify
for the drawing. Joining the Donnelly Community Club is a GREAT way to show
support for your community. We host the annual Donnelly Threshing Bee, Annual
Ice Cream Social, Community Halloween party, and Santa's visit to Donnelly.

Lola Michaelson was born February 26, 2018, to Jeremy
Michaelson and Hannah McNally of Morris, MN. Lola weighed 6 lbs. 12 oz. and was
18.75 in. long. Grandparents are Joan and the late Gary Michaelson of Morris,
MN, Audrey and the late Steven Larson of Donnelly, MN, and Tom McNally of
Crawfordsville, IN. the great-grandparents, are Don and Algene Larson Donnelly,
great- great, grandmother is Bertha Larson of Morris

The Stevens County Genealogical Society meets on April. 5th
at 1:30 p.m. at the Morris public library meeting room
RUSC Kinship 3rd annual Quarter Kraze April 7th at 3 p.m. at
the legion Morris
The MBA Storm Bantams are the Minnesota Class B third place
winners; Brady Loge is a member of that team
Past week: a visit to my aunt peal in her apt. KMRS spring
expo the lee center; Lions pancake breakfast at Lee Center, FFA alumni dinner MAES,
defibrillator training at Kongsvinger. Meatball dinner at Peace –Barrett, a
visit to friends at the Barrett Care center, Lenten services at Gs with
Eystad's
