Sept 2nd-8th

Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.
Weather news: We had some rain off and on all day Friday, and I drove home in rain from Rollag on Monday afternoon until I got Barrett, otherwise been sunny and mild  although cool Wednesday a.m.

St. John’s/ Kongsvinger news: September 10th is “God’s work our hands” day, starting with a brief service at Kongsvinger at 8:30 a.m. followed by a time of work throughout the community return to St. John’s at noon for dinner. Sunday school kids will be packing Lutheran world relief kits that day

Regular services start on September 17th with services at Kongsvinger at 8:30 a.m. (coffee fellowship afterwards parish Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. at Kongsvinger serv9ices St John’s at 11 a.m. (coffee fellowship prior to services). This schedule will continue until next May.

Gslc news: rally Sunday is September 10th breakfast fundraiser for Hurricane Harvey victims September 24th after services

Other church news: the movie A Return to Grace: Luther's Life and Legacy will be shown at the Morris Theater on September 9th at 2 pm no charge

Dedication services for the new Trinity Lutheran church Alberta will be held on September 10th starting with services at 10:30 a.m. followed by a dinner

Faith and first and other elca churches in the area will also be participating in God’s work our hands activities on September 10th. Many of these same churches will have rally Sun. on September 17th

Musician and singer Tony DeBlois is back with a concert on September 17th at 7:00pm at the Federated Church-Morris.  This 42-year-old pianist from Randolph, MA is blind, autistic and has Savant Syndrome, and has inspired all who meet him.  There will be a Reception to follow.

On September 10, at St. Mary’s Church, Chokio, Come at 10:15
A.M. to join the choir in singing polka style hymns before church.
Mass is at 10:30 with a freewill offering Dip-It-Dinner following

St. Charles Catholic Church Fall Festival
Sunday, September 10, 11:00 a.m.—1:00 p.m., St. Charles Church,
Herman. Turkey dinner with all the trimmings, home-made pie;
Raffle of hand-made full sized quilt, etc. Served at the Herman
Community Center, downtown Herman

           
Community news:well another bee is history thanks to everyone who came out and helped out in anyway. 2 inches of rain Friday eve washed out some events Saturday. But a nice sunny day Sun helped make up for it. Remember next yrs. show is August. 24th-25th the tri-feature is all things made by Oliver, Cockshutt and Moline
UMM Reference librarian Peter Bremer will give a presentation titled Hidden Gems: Overlooked Genealogical Resources on the Web on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Rodney A. Briggs Library in room #350A. Free online tools will be highlighted. Afterwards time will be given for personal family history research. Everyone is welcome.co-sponsored by the st co gen soc. no charge
 On September 11th .the bookmobile will be in town on Main St. from 3:30-3:45 p.m., the community club and firemen will meet at 7 p.m. in the community and fire hall
Raising up Stevens County Kinship fall festival September 21st from 4-6 p.m. at eastside Park-Morris
Donnelly youth club meets on September. 20th at 4 p.m. at St. John’s
