Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news
Weather news: last week the ground hog predicted we are going to have 6 more weeks of winter this year; it appears his prediction will be true with some of the coldest temps in about a month and some light snow this week.
St. John’s Kongsvinger news:  youth group tubing event February 12th at 3 p.m. at Andes
There are still several dates left to sponsor in 2017 for the KMRS radio broadcast. If you would like to sponsor one of these broadcasts in 2017, please contact the Parish Office at 246-3211 and reserve your date
Good Shepard news: thanks to everyone who participated in the fund raiser for the Ronald McDonald house on January 29th we raised about $2500 for it
Other church news: Valentine’s Day Tea Tuesday, February 14th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the First Lutheran Fellowship Hall
“Knight out” sponsored by the Morris Evangelical Free church on February 18th from 6-8 p.m. at the Lee community center, they are also sponsoring a Kingdom ball March 4th 6-8 p.m. call 589 2808 for more info on either event
Community events: On February 13th the bookmobile will be in town on Main Street at 3:45-4 p.m., the firemen will meet at the fire hall at 7 p.m. and the Donnelly community club will have their annual meeting staring with a meal at 6:30 p.m. at the community hall. If unable to attend you can send your dues to the Donnelly Community Club, Donnelly MN. 56235
Stevens County Historical Society will have their annual meeting on February 12th at the Old # 1 Southside beginning with social hour at noon, meal at 12:30 p.m.; meeting at 1 p.m. followed by entrainment.
The Donnelly city council will now meet the first Saturday of the month at 4 p.m. starting in March on a trial basis for the next 6 months
Donnelly area youth club meets on February 15th from 4-6 p.m. at St. John’s
The Donnelly rod and gun club is raffling of a fish house, contact any member for a ticket
Death notices:  Ellerd Larsen of Hoffman passed away February 4th he was preceded in death by his sister Dorothy Jacobson of Donnelly
Eldren Lichtsinn of Wheaton passed away on February 1st survivors include his granddaughter Kelly (Corey) VanHorn of Morris, Corey is a former Donnelly area resident
Celebrations: JoLette Faye Searle was born on January 22 at Stevens Community Medical Center to Marilyn and Josh Searle of Morris.  JoLette weighed 7 lbs. 9 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long.  Grandparents are Jan and Lowell Searle of Donnelly and Ace and Lois Sperr of Morris.  Great-grandparents are Agnes Searle, Laverna Lesmeister, and Bertie Sperr from Morris.
Tiger gymnastics vs. Big Stone Lakes Area: Savannah Aanerud Tied for 4th on Vault, 1st on Bars, Tied for 3rd on Beam, 1st on Floor, Tied for 1st in All-Around. Kate Giese Tied for 4th on Vault, 5th on Beam JV Shannon Kill fifth on vault
Brooke Gillisepe was named to the honor roll at Chokio-Alberta H.S.
Knight wrestling: Keaton Long was the champion at 160 lbs. in the Park Region conference tournament
Tiger swimming & diving vs. Detroit lakes JV Lee Eystad 1st in 50 m free & 100 m free; V Levin Strand 3rd 100 breast, Lee & Levin were part of the 200 free relay team that finished 4th ,Lee was part of the 400 free relay team that finished 6th,Levin was part of the 200 medley team that finished 3rd
Past wk. visit to my aunt Pearl at the sunrise apt, visitation for Chester Larson at the Pedersen funeral home, services at st J starbuck, helped out with NAPS at the sr. center, BBB at the met lounge
