Weather news: we had several days of light rain and snow this week, it has been cool.
St. John’s Kongsvinger news:  youth group tubing event February 12th at 3 p.m. at Andes
There are still several dates left to sponsor in 2017 for the KMRS radio broadcast. If you would like to sponsor one of these broadcasts in 2017, please contact the Parish Office at 246-3211 and reserve your date
Good Shepard news: February 5th is food shelf Sunday and new member Sunday  
Other church news: Valentine’s Day Tea Tuesday, February 14th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the First Lutheran Fellowship Hall
There will be a youth super bowl party at faith-Morris on February 12th starting at 5 pm
Community events: On February 6th at 7 p.m. the city council and Rendsville 4-H will meet at city hall and St. John’s
On February 13th the bookmobile will be in town on main st at 3:45-4 p.m., the firemen will meet at the fire hall at 7 p.m. and the Donnelly community club will have their annual meeting staring with a meal at 6:30 p.m. at the community hall. If unable to attend you can send your dues to the Donnelly community club Donnelly mn
The Stevens County Republican Party convention will be on February 10th at the Morris Legion at 7 p.m. registration starts at 6:30 p.m.
Stevens County Historical Society will have their annual meeting on February 12th at the Old # 1 Southside beginning with social hour at noon, meal at 12:30 p.m.; meeting at 1 p.m. followed by entrainment.
There will be an open house bridal shower for Megan Mecklenburg, bride-to-be of Patrick Uphoff today (Saturday) from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Morris, with a program starting at 10. The couple is registered at Menards, Target, and B Inspired.
Donnelly area youth club meets on February 15th from 4-6 p.m. at St. John’s
Death notices:  Betty Hoyer of Morris passed away on January 19th survivors include her daughter former Donnelly area resident Fran Cin
Chester Larson of Donnelly passed away on January 30th survivors include his wife Gloria, daughters Jane, Cindy, and son Chuck and their families. Many of you will remember him as being part of the Kongsvinger quartet, and custodian at Kongsvinger for more years, then most of us can remember his funeral services are private.
Former Donnelly area resident Marlyn Hagen of Calif. passed away last wk. survivors include his nephews Lyle and Lowell Dunn of Herman/Donnelly area and niece Julie Dunn Busse of Holloway and their families. Funeral arrangements are pending
Marrida A. Bjerke Myron of Elbow Lake passed away on January 27th according to the obit she was teacher and principal in Donnelly in 1954 according to Eliane Overson Stork
Celebrations: Tiger wrestling: West Central Conference tournament: Tigers (5th) Brady Cardwell runner up 152 lbs. (all conference) 160 Dakota Lucas 5th 160 lbs.
JoLette Faye Searle was born on January 22 at Stevens Community Medical Center to Marilyn and Josh Searle of Morris.  JoLette weighed 7 lbs. 9 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long.  Grandparents are Jan and Lowell Searle of Donnelly and Ace and Lois Sperr of Morris.  Great-grandparents are Agnes Searle, Laverna Lesmeister, and Bertie Sperr from Morris.
On January 29th I stopped into the Sunrise Apartments to wish my aunt Pearl A. Anderson a belated 91st birthday. Her birthday was January 27th. She says thank you to everyone who sent her a birthday card
