news: it has been very hot and muggy the past few
days. I see the grain for the bee has
been cut and bundled and put on racks waiting for our big weekend
St. John’s
Kongsvinger news: There will be 140th anniversary celebration for Kongsvinger
on Sept. 18th .God’s work our hands will be held on Sept. 11th
Youth club
mtg Aug. 17th 4-6 pm
Other church
news: family turkey and sweet corn
supper on Aug 7th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in
Alberta. All you can eat. The supper will take place behind the church in
Alberta.
Grief Share
will begin August 15 at the Morris Evangelical Free Church--Mondays 4-6
p.m. There will be 13 weekly
sessions. Grief Share is open to anyone
grieving the loss of someone close. This
group is sponsored by people who understand what you are experiencing and want
to offer you comfort and encouragement during this difficult time. This ministry has seen people come from all
throughout the Morris area, from different church backgrounds, and various
grief situations. For more information

There will
be a Family fun run 2K and 5K run benefiting Alexandrea’s miracle mission on
Aug. 13th starting with registration at 7 a.m.at Pomme de park main shelter. A “stork bus” will be there and also at the
Stevens county fair on Aug 12 from 1-7 pm
Community
news: An open house will be held for
Frances A. Van Zomeren to celebrate her 100th birthday on Saturday, Aug. 13 at
the Morris Senior Center from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. All friends and relatives are
invited. No gifts please.

Cyril Donald Hacker was born on July 16, at Glacial Ridge Hospital to Chris and
Becky Hacker of Starbuck. Grandparents are Charles and Deb Hacker of Hancock,
Ron Henderson of Glenwood, and Anita Henderson of Starbuck. Great grandparents
are Don and Janet Hacker of Morris and Wanda LeSage of Phoenix. Great
grandmother is Adeline Wevley of Morris. And former Donnelly area resident the
late Millie Lesage
Riley Joseph
Murray was born on June 28 at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville to Amy and
Ryan Murray of Lakeville. Grandparents are Bonnie and Gary Gulbrandson of
Donnelly, Sue Murray of St. Paul, and Bill Murray of Kansas City. Great
grandparents are Arlene Gulbrandson of Herman, Hazel Vestrum of Hoffman, and
Joe Osendorf of St. Paul
The threshing
bee royalty were part of the waterma parade in Glenwood on July 31st
Donnelly
community club held a lengthy meeting on Aug 1st following the meet
the candidates’ forum as we put the finishing touches on plans for the bee. It was
decided that the 2017 feature would be Allis Chalmers

The threshing
bee is Aug. 27 & 28th and will feature John Deere. Activities
will start on Fri. eve this yr. with hamburger meal prepared by the west central
cattleman’s assoc. Cost is $5 plus a button there will also be kids’ games and tractor
