Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news
Weather news: well the weather has continued its pattern of
being very cold for a day or two (we had some frost late last week) to sunny
and mild for a few days. Most bean fields are done and a lot of cornfields are
too, have heard that crop is very good and also quite dry.
St John’s/Kongsvinger news: Logan Mau and Brady Cardwell
will be confirmed during joint services on Oct. 25th at Kongsvinger at 10:30
a.m., note S.S. will be let out early at 10:25 a.m. that day
Deaconess Deb’s last Sun. here will be on Nov.1st, there,
will be a potluck farewell dinner for her following the 11 a.m. services at St.
John’s
Good shepherd news: Rev. Juan Benito from Mission Nicaragua
will be present during Adult Ed on Oct 25th to give a presentation about their
mission organization. A potluck dinner will follow the presentation
The sermon part of the service is now being broadcast on
KKOK 95.7 FM Sundays at 10:30 a.m.
Other church news: there will be a Scandinavian heritage
(Lutefisk/Meatball) supper at First Lutheran-Morris from 3:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. on
Nov 4th, a meatball supper at faith –Morris on Nov 11th
Options for women is sponsoring a community baby shower on
Nov 4th from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Morris
Community news: Clearance Giese celebrated his 95th birthday
on Oct 10th. The address is 23115 469th ave. Morris mn 56267 if you wish to
send him a card.
There will be an open house for Jamey Eystad's 60th birthday
today (Saturday,) at The Place to Be in Donnelly from 6 to 10 p.m. No gifts.
Please spread the word.
The annual Halloween party at the Donnelly hall will be held
on Oct 31st from 2:30 p.m. -5 p.m. at the community hall with costume judging
starting at 4 p.m.
The Stevens county genealogical society will meet on Nov. 5th
at the Morris library at 1:30 p.m.
The city council and rendsville 4-h will meet on Nov 2nd
at the hall & st Johns in Donnelly at 7 p.m.
Benefit account has been set up for Brian Koch, of Wheaton
who was seriously injured in an accident in September. Donations to help Brian and wife Jill
(Strand) Koch and family with expenses during his long term recovery can be

56296. Jill is a former Donnelly area

Bookmobile in town on main st on Oct 26th 3:45-4 p.m. (note
new time)
Several Donnelly area vendors will be the Hancock expo today
(Sat.) at the school starting at 9 a.m.
Death notices: former Donnelley area resident Joe Altrich of
Graceville passed away Oct 20th, his funeral is Oct 26th
at Assumption-Morris
Celebrations: junior cross country runner MaKenzie Smith has
been named one of Minnesota State University Moorhead/Courtyard by Marriott
Athletes of the Week for the week of Oct. 5-11.she also won the women's race to
help the Dragon women take a solid second behind the University of Mary at the
Jimmie invitational last week

Addison Cihak was the winner of a bike donated by the Morris
fire department during fire prevention week
Well somebody returned my box in the po after I bought a
replacement for it, reminder there are also boxes at HD&CO in Donnelly and
McCollar jewelry in Morris. I usually check my Donnelly boxes Tue a.m. after
bible study at Good Shepherd but sometimes it may be earlier or later,
depending on my schedule
Sept 20th in honor of clergy appreciation month several of
us from the Good Shepherd Lutheran church Tue. A.M. bible study group had lunch
with Pr Mike Hanson at the Pizza Ranch
Past wk. open house at big red barn, pumpkin day at rockin c
ranch, A visit with my former neighbors Delano and Linda Meyer at their farm
site, harvest festival at the Keng Covenant church ,school board meeting in Donnelly.
I cut my foot on a can lid a few weeks ago and due to my diabetes it is not
healing as good as the dr. would like so I have told to stay off my foot as
much as possible therefore you will not be seeing me around too much in the
next week or so
