the Donnelly news
Weather news: some sub 0 temps snow on the ground reminds
us that old man winter is on his way. Farmers around here are done for the year
as far as I know but I talked to a friend from the Fargo-Morehead area who said
there was a lot to get harvested up there yet as it was still very wet in that
area
ST John’s/Kongsvinger news:
st johns' meat raffle will be held on Dec 8th tickets available from
any St John's member or the parish office
Kongsvinger Lutheran church
women advent brunch will be held on Dec 12th at 9:30 a.m. note
change of date.
Sunday school program will be
held on Dec 19th at 7 pm followed by a time of fellowship. There
will be only one performance this year.
Good Shepherd news: the Sunday school program will be held on Dec
15 during the regular church services at 9 a.m. In the aft there will be a
dedication service for the new addition followed by an open house
Good shepherd sent 94 shoe
boxes out as part of operation Christmas child.
Dec 7th will be a
busy day with a number of open houses, bake sales, craft fairs, bazaars and
other events happening around town (at the museum, Sr center ,prca etc.)
Pedersen funeral home will
have their annual time of remembrance Dec 8th at 4 pm
Flossie Mathison passed away
on Nov 22nd survivors include a niece Deb (Mark) Erickson of Donnelly
and their family
Former Donnelly area resident “Winnie” Marth of the Herman area passed away Nov 19th.the
Kopacek family was among some other donnelly area residents that attended her
funeral in Herman on Nov 29th
Former
Donnelly area resident Marjorie Armstrong of Morris passed away on Nov 25th.
Her funeral is today (Saturday) at 10 a.m. at Faith Lutheran in Morris. She and
her family were former neighbors of mine on the farm and have been lifelong
friends.
Celebrations: Tal Arkay Frank and Nash Arkay Frank were
born Nov 15th to Randy and Kelly frank grandparents are Virgil and Theresa
Fults and Ken Frank and Joan Radil.
Tiger
cross county awards newcomer award: Becca Holland, Most Valuable Player: Savannah Aanerud and west central
conference all-conference team.
Bryce
Jergenson was named captain of the tiger basketball team.
Gage
Backman was recently given a mentor scholarship and college now scholarship at
SW state university in Marshall
Les
Kopel, Kendon Lang, Dave Lonegran were recently elected members at large for
the Stevens county fair board
in the past week I have attend bible study at
Good Shepherd ,fireman's bingo in Donnelly (with Mark), the fall festival at
Kongsvinger ,visitation and funeral for Flossie Mathison in Morris, and visited with Gary Weers at his apartment in
the sunrise apartments in Morris.
