Weather
news the past week has seen mostly
sunny and cool weather; farmers are very busy getting the rest of their crops
in and fall fieldwork done.

John’s/Kongsvinger news: the Kongsvinger fall festival is Nov 24th
,
beginning at 11 a.m.
Kongsvinger
quartet CD’s have been redone and are available for purchase; contact Jeanne
Ennen at 246-3316 for details.
The
Nov. newsletter is now out copies are available in the narthex of each church.
Good
Shepherd news: There will be a special
Sunday school worship service on November 10th
The
annual meeting date has been changed to, January 19, 2014
The
deadline for retuning boxes for operation Christmas child is Nov 18th
Adult
forum on the large catechism will be held on Nov 17th
The
November newsletter is now out; extra copies are available at the rear of the
church
There
will be a Meatball supper on November 13th at Faith Lutheran in
Morris starting at 4:30 p.m.
Prairie
Area Chorales will present a program about and for children on November 17th
at 4 p.m. at Faith in Morris
Ken
and Linda Hodgson will be hosting a community hymn sing the 2nd Sund ay of each month beginning with one
at Federated church on November 10th at 7 p.m.
Community
news: The bookmobile will be in town on November 18th at 3:30 p.m.
The
Donnelly fire department’s annual turkey bingo is Nov. 22nd starting
at 7 p.m. at the Donnelly hall
Katherine
Kay Weispfenning was born on October 12 at the United and Children’s Hospitals
in Saint Paul to Ryan and Anna Weispfenning of Blaine. Grandparents are Corrine Larson of Donnelly
and Bill and Diane Weispfenning of Jamestown, N. D. Great-grandmothers
are Bertha Larson of Donnelly and Colleen Erickson of Jamestown, N. D.
Andy
Brevig was recently appointed an officer in the local sons of Norway chapter
Mark
Koepke was the week #6 winner the sun tribune football contest.
The
tiger volley ball team won the section 3 AA north title Beth Holland was a
member of that team
Jim
and Lou Eystad and I attended the bible study at Good Shepherd on Oct 30th.
I
attended worship services at the West Wing Village on Oct. 31st,
with PR. Mary leading the services there; afterwards I introduced her to some
of the staff and residents there
Nov
2nd I traveled to Hancock for the open house at the school and also
took in the Hancock expo
Nov
3rd Joan and John Kopeck and I attended the welcome dinner for PR
Mary at Kong. We met her sister and daughter at the dinner. Later in aft I was
among those who attended the farewell program for PR John Smith at Trinity in
Cyrus
Nov
4th while visiting Mark in his apartment, we talked to his brother
Jimmy on the phone down in FL.
Mark
Koepke is home recuperating after having eye surgery on Nov 6th at
Fairview hospital in Minneapolis. As of this writing his recuperation from it
is going good, we will know after he returns to the cities for his checkup on
the 12th. Thanks to everyone for all your prayers on his behalf.
Several
of us from the Donnelly area were among those who attended the Scandinavian
heritage dinner at first Lutheran in Morris on Nov 6th
