Weather
news: although spring has officially been here for over a week it has not made
much of a presence. Temperatures are
still on the cool side meaning that the snow and ice are slow to melt although
it is nice to see the sun again

news: A true women conference will be held at the Morris Evangelical Free
Church on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month
Community
news the Donnelly co-op meeting that was scheduled for March 21st
has been rescheduled for April 5th beginning with a noon meal at the
hall.
Bar bingo at
the place to be on April 9th to benefit the Donnelly fire department
Rod and gun
club annual meeting on April 2nd at 6:30 P.M. at the Donnelly hall
The
bookmobile will be in town on April 1st at 3:30 p.m. the city council and
rendsville 4-h will meet at the fire hall and town hall at 7 P.M.
The Stevens
county genealogical society will meet on April 4th at 1:30 P.M. at
the Morris library
Benefit for
Corey rohloff son of Lowell and Cindy on April 14th 11 A.M.-1 P.M.
at the legion in Morris his step grandmother is Ardell (Anderson) Rohloff
4-h news:
knowledge bowl results from Foley junior
1 team coached by Jon Moser placed 3rd and advanced to state , the
senior team of which Jonna Moser is a member finished 2nd and they will
also advance to the state.
Vivian Fahey
of Brooklyn Park passed away on Mar 18th; survivors include a nephew; Craig
Awsumb, and a niece; pat (mark) smith and their family both of Donnelly. A copy
of her obit is on my blog site
McKenzie
smith was named honorable mention in the west central tribune’s all area team
Vance
Gullickson and I were among those that attended the seminar at the wulf Cattle
farm of rural Morris on March 21st. On March 22nd buyers from all
over America and Canada attended the cattle sale at the farm. The top selling bull went for $48,000 total
sales were about $2.2 Million
Heather and
Brooke Hufford of phoenix Arizona where here visiting their grandparents Dick
and Myrna Hufford of Morris and Rollie and Jan greiner of Donnelly this past
week
Tuesday the
26th Kopaceks attended the Delaware Mutual Insurance Company annual meeting and
noon dinner in Herman. That evening they were back in Herman for the Science
Fair at the School. Jerry’s honorary Granddaughter Jessalyn Marshall received
3rd place in the 4th grade category.
Jeanne Ennen
reports that they had a very good crowd on hand again for the Donnelly fire
departments annual fish fry.
Mark Koepke
and I attended the Kurt Kruize scholarship fundraising supper at the Hancock
community center on march 23rd earlier in the day I attended the workshop at
the Stevens county museum
Mark Koepke
and I attended Palm Sunday services at Good shepherd on March 24th. Afterwards
we had cake and coffee in honor of the 2nd anniversary of our being
in the church building
On March 25th while I attended a community education class
at the high school Mark Koepke visited with Arden Frank in the Grandview
apartment after wards I joined them there.
We wished him an early happy birthday; he will be 70 next month
Mark and I
spent some time this week getting some of his belongings moved into his new
apartment in the key row building 324 apartment 114
When I was
at the spring expo I bought a hamburger from my classmate who was manning the
west central cattleman’s booth. He said I had to say they were good in my
column he was right the best since what I had at threshing bee last year.
