Next edition June 2nd-8th Welcome to the graduation edition of the Donnelly news. Weather news: the weather has been sunny and mild for most of the last week with a few rain showers sprinkled in. crops continue to look good so far S J/Kong parish news: The summer schedule with services at Kong at 8:30 am and ST J at 10:15 starts on June 3rd VBS will be at Kong this year from June 10-13th from 6-8 pm, the 13th will be a day camp at Luther Crest leaving at 8 am and returning about 4 pm. preschoolers welcome on June 10-12th however they must have completed kindergarten to go to the day camp. To register or for more info call the church office at 246-3211 GSLC news: adult bible studies will resume after services on June 3rd The May coffee money will go relay for life The summer book club is “the hammer of God” by Bo Giertz. Their first meeting will be on June 20th, please call the church office at 585—6868 to obtain a copy of the book. First Lutheran will have a CPR /defilebartor class on June 5th from 1-4 pm at first Lutheran call 589-3242 to register Rose Athey informs me that there will be ladies sb games Thursday eves in June at Aanerud field. Due to a decrease in numbers there will not be any LL games in Donnelly this year WCMCA of Elbow Lake is looking for people to loan them ladders for the group work camp in Brandon in mid-June. If you have any you can loan them call 800-492-4805 There will be open house graduation parties today (Sat) from 11 am until 2 pm for Cody Eystad at the Donnelly hall and also for Kristina Johnson the main shelter at Pomme De Park. At 5 pm there will be an open house in honor of Dave Schmidt’s 70th birthday at the place to be in Donnelly. There will be an open house on June 3 at Pomme De Park near Morris in honor of Cliff and Betty Johnson’s golden wedding The red hatters will meet on June 4th at 1 pm at the place to be, the council and rendsville 4-h will meet at 7 pm The Zoomobile will be at Morris public Library on June 5th at 11 am Scmc will have a relay for life fund raiser on June 5th at 5 pm at the hospital free will offering, the menu is walk in tacos and bars On June 9th there will be a retirement open house for Duke Eystad at St J in Donnelly from 2-6 pm There will be an open house bridial shower for Amy Day daughter of Garry and Bonnie Gulbrandson on June 10th at 1 pm at the Kong parish hall Agralite annual meeting will be held on June 8th at 7 pm in the Benson HS There will be a life walk on May 10th from noon to 3 pm at Eastside Park in Morris The bookmobile will be in town at 3:30 pm on June 11th Congratulations to the Mahs student council; that was named masc student council of the month. Several Donnelly area students are members of the council Congratulations to Jackie Dripps who is celebrating her 20th yr. of daycare Britney Cardwell was one the of girl scouts receiving a certificate of commendation from the VFW Auxiliary, she also earned a girl scout cadette silver award and was bridged to sr girl scouts the Morris/ c-a track team won the subsection track meet on May 24th MaKenzie smith finished 2nd in the 1600 and third in 3200 meter runs and also finished 5th in the discus Rebekah Aanerud finished 4th in 100 hurdles and 2nd in the 300, Beth Holland was a member of the 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 relay teams that finished first and second. She and McKenzie were members of the 4 x 400m that finished fifth.
