Charles O. Harstad, 84, of Bigfork, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 5, 2012, in Bigfork. He was born on Sept. 11, 1927 in Jessie Lake Township. In 1947, he graduated from Deer River High School, where he had been a "dorm kid". After serving 2 years in the U.S. Army, he was united in marriage to Virginia Gillman on Oct. 18, 1952 in St. Paul, where they made their home. He retired in 1980 from the Ford Motor Company and moved to Bigfork. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Mabel Harstad, and brother Harlan. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Virginia; daughters, Barbara Motz (Donald) of lnver Grove Heights, Ann Russell (Neil) of St. Paul, and Mary of St. Paul; son, James (Tina) of Richfield; brother, Edson; sister, Ardell Olson; grandchildren Christina and Josiah (Jenna). Memorials preferred to Bigfork Over 50 Club P.O. Box 43, Bigfork, MN 56628 Visitation: One hour prior to the service. Service: Monday April 9, 2012, 2 p.m., Grace Community Church, Bigfork Minn.
