DEATH

Funeral services for Lester Huebner of Morris will be held Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Morris. Rev. Ali Boomershine will be officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery in Morris.

Lester Harold Huebner, son of August Jr. and Margaret (Stahman) Huebner, was born March 14, 1923 in Morris. In 1940, Les graduated from the West Central School of Agriculture in Morris. While attending school, Les worked on the farm. Following his schooling, he continued to farm in the Donnelly area. On June 3, 1943, he was united in marriage to Gladys Wade at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Donnelly. The couple made their home on a farm west of Donnelly, where they lived and farmed until 1979. At that time, they built a home in Donnelly, where they lived for next 23 years. In 2002, they moved to a town home in Morris. Gladys died on July 6, 2006 and Les has continued to live in Morris since that time.

Les was a life-time member of First Lutheran Church in Morris, where he served on the church council. He was also a member of the Donnelly Rod and Gun Club and served on the Donnelly Co-op Creamery Board and the Morris Coop Association Board. Les enjoyed golfing, gardening, fishing, farming and deer hunting. He particularly liked playing cards at Sax’s CafĂ© in Donnelly. Les loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Les died on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010 at the Courage Cottage in Morris, having lived to reach the age of 87 years.

He is survived by four children: Warren (Delores) Huebner of Surprise, Ariz., Monica Carlson (and friend: Tom Brady) of Plymouth, Mark (Mary) Huebner of Morris and Howard (Tracy) Huebner of Fargo, N.D.; son-in-law: Vaughn Forsberg of Euphrata, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother: Donald (Joyce) Huebner of Morris; one sister: Margie Wagner of Leavenworth, Kan. and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife: Gladys; one daughter: Jeanne Forsberg; his parents and siblings: Bertha Andert, Robert Huebner, Lloyd Huebner, Walter Huebner and Raymond Huebner.

Pallbearers for the service are Les’s grandchildren: Pam Wilbur, Brian Huebner, Eric Forsberg, Matthew Forsberg, Sarah Carlson-Wallrath, Michael Carlson, Darick Huebner, Luke Huebner, Justine Huebner, John Huebner, Kristen Huebner and David Huebner. Honorary Pallbearers are Les’s great-grandchildren: Adam Wilbur, Timothy Wilbur, Drew Huebner, Jonah Huebner, Addison Wallrath, Jackson Wallrath and Raelyn Carlson. Deb Mahoney will service as organist for the service with Mary Huebner serving as soloist. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
