donnelly news

Apr. 13th-20th

Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.

I am starting my 14th year of doing this “millioner takk” to all my loyal readers who have enabled me to do this, the staff at the Stevens County Times for giving me this opportunity, and my proofreader friends out there who help me catch my mistakes.

Weather News: after a lovely Easter weekend, it has turned colder this week with rain from late Tuesday afternoon to late wed afternoon and is still raining some on Thur. a.m.  as I am putting the finishing touches on my column

St, John’s/Kongsvinger news: services are now being held indoors again with some restrictions in place. Services are at 9:30 a.m., on the 1st, 3rd, 5th Sun at Kongsvinger, the 2nd and 4th Sun at St, John’s. Communion is on the 1st and 4th Sun of the month. S.S. follows services at 10:30 a.m. in the Kongsvinger parish hall. The Parish office remains closed; call or e-mail if you need assistance. Rev. Rochelle Anderson is providing pastoral care. Please contact a council president if you need pastoral care or call her at 320-287-2663.  As far as I know, other than church council meetings, no other events (i.e. “ladies aide”) are being held at either church.

On April 3rd,   Halsey Kay Searle (Brad and Crystal Searle) of Donnelly became the newest member of Kongsvinger through baptism. She was born last fall, but I was unaware of it. Grandparents are Lowell and Janet Searle and Rollie and the late Deb Henrichs of Morris, and great-grandma is Agnes Searle of Morris.

I have learned that Rev Dell Sanderson, long-time pastor at Faith, is leaving later this year.
