Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.
Weather News: it continues to be cloudy, cold, and wet, with
periods of rain and/or snow over the past week. Saw a few fields that looked
like they had had some work done in them, but I have not seen anybody in the
field yet.
St, John’s/Kongsvinger news: services are now being held
indoors again with some restrictions in place. Services are at 9:30 a.m., on
the 1st, 3rd, 5th Sun at Kongsvinger, the 2nd and 4th Sun at St, John’s.
Communion is on the 1st and 4th Sun of the month. S.S. follows services at
10:30 a.m. in the Kongsvinger parish hall. The Parish office remains closed;
call or e-mail if you need assistance. Rev. Rochelle Anderson is providing
pastoral care. Please contact a council president if you need pastoral care or
call her at 320-287-2663. As far as I
know, other than church council meetings, no other events (i.e., “ladies aide”)
are taking place at either church.

5th contact the parish office for more details
Baccalaureate sun is coming up soon. If you have a grad,
please let the parish office know. Note I will have my annual grad recognition
issue in early June, so if you have somebody, let me know.
Gslc news: services are at 9 a.m., followed by a limited
coffee hr. and S.S.
Adult Ed returns in mid-may
Farwell for Pr Dell Sanderson-faith will be on May 8th, 2–5
p.m. at the church; his last Sunday here will be May 9th with services at 9
a.m. & 11 a.m.
Please check with your local church for their latest update
on service times and details, and other events. Also, remember that there are
services, devotionals, etc., available on F.B., YouTube, church websites, local
access channels, radio, etc.
Community organization meetings: The Donnelly Fire
Department meets on the 2nd and 3rd Monday of the month at 7 p.m. at the fire
hall. The City council meets on the 1st Sat of the month at 4 p.m. at city
hall. The community club meetings are on
the 2nd Mon of the month at the community hall at 7 p.m. The bookmobile will
resume its regular schedule June 1st with stops in Donnelly on the 2nd &
4th Monday of the month on Main Street; More info about that in a future
column, or call 218.739.5286. The Rendsville 4-h meets on the first Monday of the
month at 6:30 p.m. at St John’s Donnelly.
Note these are scheduled meetings and subject to change, and
I assume there are restrictions, i.e., masks, social distancing, etc., in
place. Please check with somebody before planning to attend any scheduled
meetings.

the museum and take the tour at your connivance.
Countywide garage sales on May 6-8th
Hailey Lesmeister was one of the MAHS speech participants
who took 2nd at the section speech meet; as a team, she and her partner took
1st in duo interpretation, they went on to the state where they made it to the
finals and took 4th place.
Kaylen Running Hawk was honored by the Morris area school
board for his National heart of the arts award.
Congratulations to Sandy Kopel on her recent election as VFW
Aux Jr. Vice and Jack Kopacek, who was elected Patriotic Instructor. Joan
Kopacek continues as Auxiliary President.
Isabel and Lydia Fynboh, and Destiny Pollard are members of
the MAHS girls track team that recently took 2nd at the Sauck Centre invite.

Death notices: Joyce Hanson of Herman passed away on Apr.
25th survivors include her brother Lowell (Barb) Simpson of the Chokio-Donnelly
area and their family.
Arne Stein of Morris passed away on Apr. 23rd survivors
include his niece Kathy (Scott) Bahr of the Donnelly area and their family
Past week: worship services and Adult Ed with Pastor Erica
Varcoe from Table Ministry in Sioux Falls and bible study at G.S.
