Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news. No mail service on February 19th due to the president's day holiday

Weather News temps have been relatively mild during the last week we even had some melting going on, but Wednesday brought cold temps and blowing snow canceling school and other activities during the day

Donnelly church news: There will be joint services at 9:30 a.m. on the first 1st,3rd, and 5th Sundays at Kongsvinger, the 2nd, and 4th Sundays of the month at ST. John's followed by Sunday school and coffee fellowship.

Communion services are on the 1st and 4th Sundays of the month.

Ash Wednesday services are on February 26th at 7 p.m. at ST. John's

KMRS broadcasts are still available for sponsorship in 2020 contact the parish office for details.

Sandy Dunn has updated the Kongsvinger history book, contact her or the parish office for a copy. The church is also looking for volunteers to sit on the furnace replacement and cemetery directory committees.

The church council meetings now will be held on February 19th

There will be a Kingdom ball at the Morris E Free Church on February 22nd, 6–8 p.m.

BBB will continue at 7 p.m. at the Fireside restaurant in Morris on Wednesday evenings until February 26th.
Fusion youth will be going skiing on February 29th at Andes tower hills from 5 p.m. midnight open to all 6-12th graders in the area, cost $20 for more info contact Trinity Lutheran in Cyrus.

The Bookmobile will be in town on Main St. on February 24th from 2:45–3 p.m. note new time.

The Stevens County Genealogical society will meet on March 5th at 1:30 p.m. at the Morris Library.

Bar Bingo at the place to be in Donnelly on February 21st

Today (Tuesday) at Faith-Morris starting at 5 p.m. RUSC Kinship will have their annual warm hearts and hot dishes event. This year there will be a competition between the GSLC and Kongsvinger ladies for the best church hot dish.

Precinct caucuses are on February 25th at 7 p.m. (registration 6:30 p.m.) Republicans will meet at the Old # 1, Morris, the DFL at MAHS cafeteria, for other counties /parties contact your county auditor for locations


Donnelly community club had their annual meeting on February 10th at the hall. I am happy to report the bee had a better year than I expected. A reminder that this year's bee is August 29th and 30th, and the feature is Massy Ferguson and Ford. Thanks to the community club for the Donnelly bucks I won at the meeting. The next meeting is on March 9th at 7 p.m. at the community hall

Donnelly city council meets on March 7th at 4:30 p.m. in the council chambers.

Rendsville 4-h meets on March 2nd at 6:30 p.m. at St John's

Donnelly youth club meets on February 19th, 4–6 p.m. at St John's

New horizons Ag services (elevator) annual meetings are Febuary24-28th for each district. The one that is for the district that Donnelly is in is on February 28th at 9 a.m. at the Herman community center. Call the main office at 1-800: 642-1077 for more info.

Former Donnelly resident Dorothy Perkins of Morris passed away on February 8th, I was among those who attended her funeral at St. John's on February 11th after the funeral, I visited Jim and Lou Eystad in their apartment at Legacy Living.




Former Donnelly area resident Wally Gulbrandson of Alexandria MN passed away on January 27th; his parents were the late Lloyd and Millie Gulbrandson of the Herman/Donnelly area.

A good crowd was on hand for Andy Brevig's birthday party at Kong on February 8th. Unfortunately, I was unable to make it.
Congratulations this week go out to the following individuals: Faith Butterfass honorable mention West-Central conference gymnastics, several members of her family are from the Donnelly area

Shannon Kill of Donnelly who was one of the students named to the dean's list at U of M Crookston

Travis Fults, Hailey Lesmeister, and Kylen Running Hawk were members of the MAHS one-act play that took 4th at the sections

Alivia Butterfass, Kassandra Woodke, Justin Miller, and DrewHuebner were among the 7th-grade blue ribbon science fair winners.

Tristian Raths was a member of the MAHACA. wrestling squad that finished in 4th place at the WCC duals meet, and 3rd place at the Dr. Busian invite in Morris, he finished 5th at 195 in Morris.
