donnelly news

Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.
Weather news: some colder weather and several inches of snow have marked the return of winter, so shovels, blowers, plows, etc. have had to come out of storage I see there are still a few cornfields left to be picked up near the Lien church near Barrett
Donnelly church news: The Sunday school program will be presented on December 15th during worship at Kongsvinger at 10:30 a.m. (note change of time for that Sunday only) and that afternoon at 5 p.m. at St. John's. There will be joint services at 9:30 a.m. on December 22nd (Kongsvinger) and 29th (St John's) No regular S.S. in December.
There will again be a poinsettia garden at both churches this year contact the parish office for more details
Gslc news: advent services on December 11th, 18th at 7 p.m. at the church
 On December 18th during services at the church, the S. S. program will be presented
Christmas Eve services at 5:30 p.m., Christmas day at 10:30 a.m.
The church is looking for a new secretary if interested contact the church at 585-6868
Many churches in the area are doing a hat/mitten tree again this yr.
On December 24th the living nativity will be presented at Faith –Morris at 3 and 5 pm
On December 15th the 1st –Morris S.S. program will be held at 10:30 a.m., the faith one will be at 11 a.m.
Bookmobile in town on Main St., December 16th from 2:45-3 p.m. note new time
Santa day in Donnelly at the community hall is December 14th; dinner at noon served by the community club with Santa arriving about 1 p.m. Everyone welcome.
Donnelly fire department meets on December 16th at 7 p.m. at the fire hall
Rendsville 4-h Christmas party on December 14th at 6 p.m. at St J (church not parsonage as an earlier fb post said)
Open house baby shower for Danny and Kate Ennen will be held on December 14th from 10 a.m. until noon at the Kongsvinger parish hall
Roger Horning of Chokio passed away on December 1st survivors include his granddaughter Michelle (Adam) Speer of Donnelly and their family
Lou Eystad has moved into an apt at the Legacy Living in Morris; hopefully, Jim can join her there later.
, Past week thanksgiving dinner at the Barret home with Helen Peterson and Wally McCollar visit Jim and Lou Eystad at the WWV, Geesien Kill funeral assumption Morris, visit with Helen Peterson at the Barrett care center, helped with NAPS at Sr. Center, Meyer mission fundraiser Zion-Morris, advent services G.S. helped decorate the church at Gs.
