Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.
Weather news: after a beautiful week temps have cooled off
this week and we have had some light rain the past few days. Have read/ heard
of a few fields being planted including at the “experiment station” here in
Morris but so far have not seen anybody in the fields around here. When I was
on the farm, I knew field work was underway by the steady stream of Donnelly
co-op vehicles going past my place, but here in town, I do not see that.
ST. John's/ Kongsvinger news: joint services at 9:30 a.m.,
on May 5th at Kongsvinger followed by coffee hour and Sunday school and on May
12th at St John’s followed by coffee hour
first communion Sunday is May 5th. Cradle roll and adopted
grandparent Sunday on May 5th after services. It is also the last day of s.s.
Baccalaureate Sunday is May 19th, if anybody has an h.s or
higher Ed grad, please let the parish office know a.s.a.p., also I will have my
annual grad recognition issue sometime in the next month so let me know if you
have any
3b has resumed every Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the met lounge
GSLC news: there will be a potluck dinner and celebration on
May 5th to honor Jon and Ruth Arndt for their many years of service to Good
Shepherd. They are retiring and moving to Fargo.
On May 6th Herman Red Hats will meet at 9 a.m. at
AJ's.-Herman, The Bookmobile will be in town on main st from 3:45-4 p.m. The rendsville
4-h club mtg has been ppd, new time date TBA
May 13th Donnelly fire department meets at the fire hall,
and the community club meets at city hall both 7 p.m.
Brad Heil of Morris passed away on April 27th survivors
include his daughter Ann (Brian) Erdahl of Morris, Brian is a former Donnelly
area resident
Former Donnelly area resident Roger Recker of Morris passed
away on April 28th
