Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.



Weather news: As I was writing my column last week, they were talking about a blizzard for the weekend, but it never materialized although I understand there was some blowing and drifting in the country on Tuesday. We did get several inches of snow Monday evening, however, which was enough for me to have to blow for the first time this year, and as I am writing this more snow is predicted for this week

St. John’s/ Kongsvinger news:  Chad Smith will lead a course in the use of the defibrillator installed at Kongsvinger in memory of Steve Larson on February 25th following services. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Lenten services continue every week until March 21st at 7 p.m. with lunch afterward and alternating between churches, February 28th at St John’s, March 7th at Kongsvinger.A complete schedule can be found in the February newsletter

KLCW will meet on March 1st at 11 a.m. in the blue room of the West Central Homes, followed by a potluck dinner. Note change of meeting place

Gslc news:  Lenten services continue at the church at 7 p.m. until March 21st   

There will be a Kingdom ball at the Morris Evangelical Free church on March 3rd, 6-8 p.m. at the church

There will be a BOLD women’s event, at First-Morris on February 25th, 12-4 p.m.



Widows and widowers are invited to Sunday lunches at noon in the basement at Old #1, Morris on the following Sundays: March 11, April 8, May 6, June 10, July 8, August 5, September 9, October 14, November 11, December 9. All widows/widowers are invited for lunch on their own and fellowship! Questions, call Rose Murphy, Grief Care Coordinator, Pedersen Funeral Home. There is an elevator in front of the old # 1

St Mary's –Morris annual dinner auction is today (Saturday) 4-10 p.m. at the National Guard Armory in Morris                   

Herman red hatters meet at Human Spring Buffet in Fergus Falls on Monday, March 5th at 11:00 a.m. 

Donnelly city council meets on March 3rd at 4 p.m. in the council chamber

Rendsville 4-h meets on March 5th at 7 p.m. at St. John’s

Copies of the 2018 RTA phone books are now available at HD & co in Donnelly or in other towns served by the company.

Death notice: Millie Wilts of Herman passed away on January 21st survivors include her son Doug (Ellen) Willits & their family of the Donnelly/Chokio area

The Bookmobile will be in town on main st on March 12th 3:45-4 p.m.

The Hancock Owls boys’ basketball team won the Pheasant Conference championship this year; Bennett Nienhaus is a member of that team

Past week a visit to my aunt Pearl in her apt in Morris, Backman welding open house Morris, a visit to friends in the Barret Care center, a visit to my friend Mark Koepke, at his apt in Morris. Lenten services at Gs (w/Eystads)
