Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.

Weather news it is still hot and dry around here but around here crops still look good, not so much in DeSmet where I was over the weekend very dry down there and crops do not look so good.

St. John’s/ Kongsvinger news: The summer schedule will continue until early September, Sunday services are at 10 A.M.; Wednesday evening services are at 7 P.M. Upcoming service dates are:   , July 12^th and 16^th at Kongsvinger, July 23^rd at St J. the remaining summer schedule is found in the July newsletter copies are available at both churches or from the parish office

Kongsvinger Krusaders will participate in the Relay for Life July 21^st from 5 -12 p.m. at Pomme de Park Morris

The seventh annual block party will be held August 1^st starting at 5 p.m., on the west side of ST. John’s along with national night out.

GSLC news: there will be no Wednesday evening services, on July 19^th and 26^th, however there will be bible study on July 18^th & 25^th. This is a change from what announced in the summer newsletter

Other church news: from Faith Morris: They will have an outdoor worship service and pot luck brunch at Pomme de park on July 30^th starting at 9 a.m. On July 15^th the Faith youth will meet at Wells Park at 6:30p.m., for grilling and fun, then walk to East Side Park for the outdoor concert featuring Sara Groves and Mallary Hope at Eastside Park at 8 p.m. sponsored by First, Faith, and Assumption churches of Morris. Summer day camp by Luther crest (VBS) will be held on July 31^st –Aug. 3^rd at Faith co-sponsored by Faith and First of Morris and Trinity –Cyrus contact either church for more info.

The Donnelly youth club will meet on July 19^th at 4 p.m. at ST John’s

Open house bridal shower for Sara Beyer, Bride-to-be of Phil Tostenson, from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 15, at the Morris Senior Center, Sara is the daughter of Ed and Carol Beyer of Morris. Carol is a former Donnelly area resident.

Cael and Chalee Eystad of Morris were seriously injured in an ATV accident in Becker County on July 3^rd, their parents are Jesse and Missy Eystad of Morris, and grandparents are Jamie and Kathy Eystad of Donnelly. On July 17th the Donnelly fire dept. will meet at 7 p.m. at the fire hall, and the bookmobile will be in town on Main St. at 3:45 p.m.

Death notice: Delores Buhl of Graceville passed away on June 23rd survivors include her nephews Tony Lesmeister of Donnelly, Tom (Roxanne Stevenson) Lesmeister of Morris and their family, Roxanne is a former Donnelly resident

Congratulations to Kali Berlinger who was crowned Miss Morris on July 8^th her parents are Angie and Bruce Berlinger of Morris, grandparents are Kevin and Rhonda Asmus and her great grandparents are Barb and Don Riley and Kermit and Karen Stahn. Great great grandparents were the late Marlys and Parnell Alm Runner up was Cheyenne Baumgart our '15-'16 Threshing Bee queen.

The Donnelly community club had a lengthy meeting on July 10^th as we continue to finalize plans for the bee. The posters are here; I have some, and have left some at Mccollar Jewelry. They will be put up in the area in the upcoming weeks. The buttons are also here and can be purchased at most Donnelly business or the Dakotah banks in Chokio and Morris soon. The toy tractors for the raffle can be seen at the Donnelly c-op .for more info visit the website http://www.donnellythreshingbee.com  .We are looking for somebody to take over the white elephant sale and the kiddie parade, if not they will not be held this year. The theme this year is “Yippee it’s time for the bee”. The bee is Aug. 26 and 27^th the feature is Allis next yrs. tri-feature is Cockshutt, Moline and Oliver. Work schedules will be mailed out in early Aug. if you are not a on a committee but would like to help but would like to let me or one of the officers know.

July 7 and 8^th I took a mini vacation traveling to DeSmet S.D. to take in the Wilder pageant and do some sightseeing in the area

Past week, visit to my aunt Pearl in her apt in Morris, open house birthday party for Pearl Diers at Faith-Morris, red letter band concert in Elbow Lake, Helen Larson visitation UM church-Herman, Donnelly community club mtg, bible study and WOW at Gs (w/Eystads)
