Welcome to another edition of the
Donnelly news. I want to especially welcome my new readers in the Hancock area.
Weather news it has been cooler
this week and we have had a few rain showers, crops look very good
St. John’s/ Kongsvinger news: The
summer schedule will continue until early September, Sunday
services are at 10 A.M.; Wednesday evening services are at 7 P.M. Upcoming
service dates are: June 25th at St John’s, June 28th
and July 2nd at Kongsvinger. A complete schedule can be found in the
June newsletter, copies are available at both churches, or from the parish
office.
There will be an Independence Day
celebration on July 4th at Kongsvinger, starting at 11:30 a.m. with a flag
raising ceremony, followed by a potluck dinner. Everyone welcome
The newest member of Kongsvinger is Phebe Joy
Oelke (Joe and Jessica (Bergstrom)) who was baptized on June 10th
Brad Searle and Crystal Henrichs were
married on June 17th at West Pomme De Terre Lodge
GSLC news: Wednesday evening
services at 7 p.m., will continue until fall
VBS will be held on June 26-29th
at GS in conjunction with Zion-Morris again this year

Starbuck will have their annual ice cream social on June 25th
starting at 11 a.m. free will donation
The Knights of
Columbus will be hosting a hog roasted meal fundraiser for the Cancer Relay for
Life on the Assumption lawn today (Sat). from 4 – 8 p.m. Free will offering,
Community news: the city
council will meet at 4 p.m. on July 1st at city hall in Donnelly
On July 3rd, from
3:45-4 P.M, the bookmobile will be in town on Main Street, and at 7 P.M., the Rendsville
4-h and the firemen will at St. John’s and at the fire hall
Death notice Lucille "Lucy" Ann
Krupke Heil of Hancock passed away on June 14th survivors include
her granddaughter Ann (Brian) Erdahl and their family of Morris, Brian is a
former Donnelly area resident
The
Donnelly community club had their monthly meeting on June 12th as we continue
planning for the bee. Our tri-feature next yr. will be Cockshutt, Oliver, and Moline.
This year’s show is August 26th and 27th and the feature is Allis.
Posters and buttons should be out in about a month. Also look for an ad about
the bee, on the back of your Willie’s Super Valu register slips soon too.
Nominations
for little Miss Donnelly and threshing bee queen will be accepted from July 1st-15th,

The
threshing bee royalty were part of the parades in Chokio (community picnic) and
Kensington (Runestone Days) on June 10th and 18th.
