Weather news:  after some more rains over the weekend it has turned very hot and muggy. The crops I saw today on at the swan lake research farm sure looked fanatic
St. John’s Kongsvinger news: As of July 17th services times have switched with services at St. John’s Sundays at 9 a.m. and WOW at Kongsvinger at 7 p.m.
There will be 140th anniversary celebration for Kongsvinger in Sept.
Annual garden (block) party on July 30th beginning at 4 p.m. on west side of St. John’s free will offering to benefit the Stevens County Food Shelf

ROBERTA Koepke of Orlando passed away recently survivors include her husband former Donnelly area resident Jim Koepke of Orlando

Community news:  The Threshing Bee buttons are here right now they may be purchased from any of the Community Club officers; they will be on sale at businesses in Donnelly soon. Posters are also here and we will be getting them up in the area in the next few weeks. I will leave some at McCollar’s jewelry if you want one. Reminder the bee is Aug. 27 and 28th and the feature this year is John Deere. On Aug 26th the West Central Cattleman will be serving a hamburger supper along with kid games and tractor Olympics, you must have a button for the supper and cost is $5

There will be a meet the candidates’ forum for the Threshing Bee royalty contestants on Aug 1st at 7:30 p.m. at the Donnelly community hall everyone welcome

Celebrations the pirates are the Morris little league champs this year Brandon Jergenson was the winning pitcher
There will be an open house bridal shower in honor of Cassidy Hennen, bride to be of Matt Huot on Saturday, July 30, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Pomme de Terre Golf Club, 24860 State Highway 9 Morris. Cassidy is the daughter of Rick and Carrie Hennen of Morris. Matt's parents are, Darin and Nancy Huot, of Donnelly.  Matt graduated this spring from the U of M Crookston

Thorstein David Larson was born on July 19, at Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris to David and Hannah Larson of Donnelly Grandparents are Corrine Larson and the late Elroy Larson from Donnelly and Rick and Mary Hilton of Woodbury. Great grandparents are Bertha Larson from Donnelly and Reverend Dale and Margie Hilton from Kernersville, North Carolina
The annual VFW Cancer Salad Luncheon will be 11 A.M. - 1 P.M. July 28th at Old #1 South side. Free Will Offering.



The Donnelly Youth Club met July 20th. The children enjoyed the air conditioning except for at the end when they went out into the 92 degree heat and armed with slices of watermelon had a seed spitting competition.
I need to clarify some thing about the sources of news for my column.  I regularly check area church bulletins, newsletters, newspapers, websites, Facebook posts etc. for info to put in my column.  I consider any info in them to be public info and thus I am free to use for my column unless otherwise requested.
