donnelly news

May 21st –may 27th
Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news
Weather news well after a week cold and rainy it has turned sunny and mild again.  Think most farmers in the area have most of their crops in but they are slow to emerge.
St John’s/Kongsvinger news:  There will be a brunch at Kongsvinger on May 22nd at 10 a.m. to honor the grads followed by joint Baccalaureate services at Kongsvinger at 11 a.m. this will also be the last day of s.s.
 The summer worship schedule starts on May 29th with services at Kong 9 a.m. and on June 1st at 7p.m. at St. John’s. This schedule will continue every sun a.m. and wed eve through July 17th when times will switch with St. John’s worshiping on Sun a.m. and Kong on wed eve. Regular schedule will resume in Sept.
Good Shepherd Lutheran church news May 22nd is the last day of Sunday school; to celebrate a picnic will be held at Green River Park in Morris starting at 12:30 p.m. with a potluck picnic and games
Summer book study will start on June 5th the book will be "where god meets man" by Gerhard Forde. the study will be during adult Ed about 10:30 a.m.
Other church news: none
Community news: The Bookmobile will be in town on Main Street in Donnelly on May 23rd from 3:45-4 p.m.
Death Notice john Jack Gausman of Princeton mn passed away on May 7th. He was proceed in death by his wife former Donnelly area resident Virginia Mich
Celebrations: john DeLong was recently named king of the west wing village
The Diehl Farm of Donnelly (purchased in 1915), the Kopel Farm of Donnelly (purchased in 1916) were recently recognized as century farms in Stevens County
Chandler Erickson named to the all-conference UMAC team in bb
May 14th I traveled to Immanuel Lutheran church near Barrett mn for the memorials service for Joan Larson. Her husband is my 2nd cousin, it was an opportunity to see and visit with relatives I had not seen in some time
The Donnelly youth club Wednesday [18th] enjoyed making a “Tower of Babel” then knocking it down again as part of their lesson.
Past week Altrich sale Donnelly grant co fair board fundraiser in Herman; visit with Rosie Hanson at bethel manor in Alex and Iver Aal and others at the Barrett home, bbb at old # 1 Southside
