Weather news: : I was in Herman last Fri eve but understand there were some strong winds to hit Morris ,no major damage afterwards that I saw just a few small branches down. It was hot and humid over the weekend; most of this week has been sunny and mild.  The corn continues to look fantastic; the garden produce on display at the Herman fair looked good too
St John’s/Kongsvinger news: the summer worship schedule continues until Aug. 23rd (Kongsvinger) & 25th (st John’s)
The original 1980 Kong Kookbook has been reprinted, to purchase one contact the parish office at 246-3211

Community news "Meet the Candidates" (threshing Bee royalty) is Monday July 27th at 7:30 p.m. followed by a special community club meeting .Donnelly Threshing Bee will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year so the Royalty Committee will be hosting a Past Royalty Reunion to be held on that Saturday (29th) of the Bee.    Rocking c horse ranch (Van Horn’s) will have its grand opening on Aug 1st from 1-7 p.m. at the farm (59312 150th St Donnelly) with a variety of activities (western pottery, pony rides, tours of grandpa’s Toyland etc. Tickets available at the gate

Jackson Loge was a member of the Yankee LL team that took 2nd place in the Morris Little league playoffs
Leif Arelon Weeding was born on July 13at Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris to Casie and John Weeding of Morris.  . Grandparents are Arnie and Lori Orsland and David and Shirley Weeding from Halstad, Minn. Great grandparents are Darlene Hauge from Halstad, Minn. and Sharon Henrichs from Chokio, Minn.

The Morris Men’s fishing league results: swamp busters 2nd place, team members included Gary Gulbrandson; 3rd place sharp filets; members included Ryan Smith and Nancy Kisgen

Posters are going up in the area, and advance sale buttons will be for sale soon. Save yourself a dollar by buying in advance. The schoolhouse this year will feature Donnelly memorabilia ,work lists will be mailed out soon, if you are not a committee and would like to be call 246- 3337. A reminder that any help before, during, or after the Bee is welcome.  
Also a reminder that Corrine Larson is looking for units for the parade on the 30th, especially anyone or anything associated with 1965. If you were born, married, graduated etc. or have a car, truck, tractor, piece of machinery etc. made in ’65 please contact her at 246-3434
I also understand that some past royalty pictures are missing as well as some past secretary records if you have any info about this let me or one of the officers know
The threshing bee Royalty were part of the Grant Co fair parade in Herman on July 18th

Past week: RTA meeting Barrett, Leroy Diers visitation at the Pederson  funeral home (past chairman of the Stevens county Republican Party) watched the LTD MOTORCYLE ride come into town ,attended events at the grant co fair in Herman, and the Morris dental clinic customer appreciation picnic
