Weather news: it has
been hot and humid most of the last week a few rain showers have brought some
relief from the heat. All the crops I
have seen look very green and luscious and the grain looks great too.
St John’s/Kongsvinger news: 4 part JOINT PARISH BIBLE STUDY
ON ACTS begins on Monday, August 3, from 7 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Kongsvinger.
[August 10th at St. John’s] Bring your own Bible. Please read the first two
chapters of Acts prior to coming to the Bible Study.
Wednesday August 5th, Supper will be served at 6 P.M. prior
to the 7 P.M. worship service at St. John’s.

c horse ranch (Van Horn’s) will have its grand opening today (Sat.) from 1-7 p.m.
at the farm (59312 150th St Donnelly) with a variety of activities (western
pottery, pony rides, tours of grandpa’s Toyland etc.) Tickets available at the
gate
On August 3rd.the bookmobile will be in town at 3:30 p.m. on
main st the City council and rendsville 4-h will meet at the fire and community
hall at 7 p.m.
No Stevens County genealogical society meeting this month,
next one is Sept 3rd
The VFW ladies Auxiliary annual salad luncheon is on August
6th at the old # 1 Southside from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Legion baseball sweet corn fund raiser tonight (Sat.) starting
at 5 p.m. at the Legion, free will offering

be for sale at Donnelly business soon. Save yourself a dollar by buying in
advance. The schoolhouse this year will feature Donnelly memorabilia ,work
lists will be mailed out soon, if you are not a committee and would like to be
call 246- 3337. A reminder that any help before, during, or after the Bee is
welcome. I see that preparations for
the grain shocking are underway on the grounds

The threshing bee Royalty were part of the watterma parade in
Glenwood on July 26th
The candidates for threshing bee Royalty were announced at a
“meet the candidate’s” forum on July 27th. Little Miss Donnelly
candidates are Amya Raths her parents are Scott and Jaclyn Raths, grandparents
are Deb and Howard Kill, great grandparents are Geshien Kill and Rose Uhden,
Tabitha Van Horn parents Josh and Beth Keifer and the late Curtis Van horn,
grandparents are Cole and Marlene van Horn and Sharon Van Horn; Jeff and Cindy Gulbrandson, great grandmother
is Arlene Gulbrandson, Savannah Aanerud her parents are Andy and Heather ,grandparents
are Jim and Loraine; Cheyenne Baumgart
her parents are Scott and Jodi Arndt.
Linda O ‘Kane of Fennimore Wis. and her sister in law Sue
Steiner, from Rockford, Illinois spent some time last week in ND and Minn.
visiting family and friends including her brother Mark Koepke and me.

The class of ‘55 will have their 60th class reunion in
late August. most of the classmates should be receiving am updated reunion letter
this week.
Also a reminder that Corrine Larson is looking for units
for the parade on the 30th, esp. anyone or anything associated with 1965. If
you were born, married, graduated etc. or have a car, truck, tractor, piece of
machinery etc. made in ’65 please contact her at 246-3434
