Weather news: it has continued to be fairly sunny and warm Tuesday
brought some much needed rain. Crops are
looking good so far
St John’s/Kongsvinger news: there will be joint services at
9 a.m. at Kongsvinger every Sunday and at 7 p.m. every Wed. eve at St John’s;
until further notice. There will be a supper
on the 24th before services.
The annual Fourth of July fellowship gathering will be held
at the Kongsvinger Parish Hall starting with a flag raising ceremony at 11:30 a.m.
Good shepherd news:
There is a baby shower for Martin Olaf Hanson on June 22 at 6:30 p.m. at
Good Shepherd; he will be baptized on June 21st during regular
worship services

events include a meal and program today (sat), worship services plus dinner on
Sun starting at 10:30 a.m.
St John’s –Starbuck annual ice cream social will be held on June
28th @ 11 a.m.
The Mn All-State Lutheran choir will be on tour thought out
Mn starting today (Sat) in Alex with stops in Elbow Lake, Ortonville among
other towns.
Community news The St. John’s /Kongsvinger parish and
Donnelly community club have decided to combine two events into one. Our annual
ice cream social will be held as part of the block party on June 27th on the
west side of St John’s church. Supper (free will offering) will start about 4 p.m.
menu includes hamburgers, beans, chips, and of course ice cream and the Rendsville
4-h will be selling their famous pies. Other activities include the firemen water
fights, beanbag tournament etc. For more info call 246-3211. I will have more
info about other com club events in the future
There is an open house 85th birthday for Ardis Gullickson today
(Saturday), from 2 to 4 p.m. at the sunrise apartments (west central homes) 6 Thomas

The Donnelly rod and
gun club is having a walleye fishing Tournament at Pomme De Terre (Perkins)
lake today (Saturday) registration starts at 9 a.m.
There will be a Sperr Family Reunion on June 28th
at West Pomme Lodge, Donnelly, please bring a dish to share. It starts with
coffee and donuts at 10:00 A.M. more info 763-221-6121.

Drewes of Morris passed away on June 9th I was among those who attended
her funeral on June 11th at Faith

Mathew Homeier recently graduated from the U.S. merchant marine
academy in NY his parents are Ray and Adora (Kruize) Homeier. His grandparents
are former Donnelly area residents Reuben and Bernadine Kruize.
Lacey Eystad recently made the presidential academic honors
list at SDSU
The Safety Captain of the MAHS Plaid Pillagers, Dalton
Luepke, received the Safety Star of the Day award for his efforts at the
Minneapolis Regional.

Mau tied for 56th Novice, Sam
Henrichs tied for 14th place, (high gun female jv)
David and Sheryl Strachan of Northfield, along with Phil and
Kris Kloos of Donnelly, are happy to announce the engagement of their children,
Emma Strachan and Tom Kloos. His grandparents are Herb and Carol Kloos of
Donnelly and B Fermoyle of Morris.
The Donnelly fire dept. and threshing bee royalty were part
of the Chokio community picnic parade on June 13th
