my Dad who passed away on Oct 31st 2005
Weather
news: several inches of heavy wet snow and colder tamps during the past week is
a reminder old man winter is on his way.
There are only a few un-harvested cornfields in the area.

John's/Kongsvinger news: to the best of my knowledge, the November schedule is
the same as the past few months have been, with drive-in services on the 1st
& 4th Sundays of the month at Kongsvinger and St John's at 9:30 a.m. and
"Service of the Word" on other Sundays. No other activities at either
church.
Rev.
Rochelle Anderson of Morris will be providing pastoral care until further
notice; if you need care, contact the parish office or one of the church
presidents. You can also watch our "virtue" services on Facebook and
YouTube.
Due to the COVID 19 outbreak, the parish
office remains closed; call 246-3211, e-mail (stjKongsvinger@runestone.net), or
send mail (box 97) when assistance is needed.
Other Church
news, Faith & First-Morris are both back indoors now.
Fusion youth
has restarted. TLC Cyrus, ST J/Kong Donnelly, Faith, First, and the Federated
Church in Morris, are the sponsoring churches for this ministry. Contact any of
the churches for more info.
GSLC news:
there will be two services on Sun a.m. the first at 9 a.m. in the dining hall
will be informal with no singing, and the 2nd one will be a regular one at
10:15 in the sanctuary. For more info,
call the church at 585-6868. This month marks the 10th aniv of the movement of
the GSLC from south of Alberta to its present location n of Morris. Thanks to
the Hufford family for donating the land for the church to sit on

with your local church for what their plans are. A reminder that you will find
virtual services, devotions, etc. on fb, YouTube, local access channels, church
websites, and the radio; for many area churches,
There will
be No lutefisk dinner at first this year. Instead, a ham take -out dinner will
replace it on November 4th call the church at 589-3242 from 4:30–7 p.m.
There is no meatball dinner at Faith or a Fall
Festival at Kongsvinger this yr. I assume
this applies to most of the other fall church dinners in the area.
For sale in
Donnelly: wooden desks by the community club; contact an officer for more
details. And a fire truck by the DFD.
I asked a
DFD member about turkey bingo, and they told me that nothing had been decided
for sure yet about bingo, but they will probably just do the raffle rather than
have bingo.
Betty
Johnson of Donnelly passed away on Oct 11th. They have fixed the problem, which
caused her live steam not to work, and you may view it on the funeral home
website now.
Orville
Brunkow of Chokio passed away on Oct
15th local survivors include his sister Virene Olson of Morris and her
children. Her late husband, Chester, was from the Donnelly area.
Most voters
in the Donnelly area will vote by mail or at the courthouse in Morris.
Joyce Mau
Trisko and Eliane Overson Stork were among those of us who attended the funeral
luncheon for Betty Johnson at the old #1 in Morris on Oct 14th.
