Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.
Weather news: most of the past week has been cloudy, cold and rainy, and as I am writing this Wednesday evening we have some light snow so it will be a while before farmers get back in the fields
St. John's/ Kongsvinger news: there will be joint services at 9:30 a.m. at ST. John's on October 14th with Sunday school at 10:20 a.m. and at Kongsvinger on the 21st, no Sunday school.
St. John’s fall festival is today (Saturday) from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the church
Also, today (Saturday) is the Fall Bazar at Zion Lutheran- Morris and fall bake sale at Our Saviors- Chokio, both are from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Fall ham dinner Herman UM Oct 14th 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Gatherings for Widows and Widowers will meet for lunch at noon on October 14 in the basement of Old #1 in Morris.
On October 15th the fire department meets at 7 p.m. at the Fire Hall.
The Donnelly community club is hosting the semi-annual Minnesota association of Pioneer Power shows meeting today (Saturday) starting at 11 a.m.at the Donnelly community hall
Herman Red Hats will meet at "The Place to be" for their Halloween party on October 30th any time after 3 p.m. Ordering off the menu, and please dress up
Donnelly youth club meets on October 17th from 4-6 p.m. at St. John’s church
Former Donnelly area residents Joyce (Jacobson) Olson of Alexandria passed away on Oct 7th; her funeral is today (Saturday) at 10:30 a.m. at Bethel- Herman, Terry (Boener) Krenz of Bismarck ND passed away on October 4th
An open house bridal shower for Alyssa Wittnebel, Bride to Be of Tom Holland, will be held on Saturday, October 20th from 2-4 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Morris. Tom is from Donnelly; his parents are Joe and Linda Holland of Donnelly
On October 18th from 7:00-8:30 the Rendsville 4-h club will be hosting club bingo at St. Johns, Donnelly. New members are welcome
Fall Family Fun will be held at Niemackl Park again on October 26th at 4:30 pm. Park is about halfway between Donnelly & Herman
Threshing bee royalty was part of the MAHS homecoming parade Sept. 28th
On October 13th there will be an open house 98th birthday party for former Donnelly area resident Clarence Geise 2-4 p.m. at legacy living in Morris
Past wk.: a visit to my aunt Pearl at her room at the courage cottage, complete st projects celebration Glenwood. A visit to Harold Rippe and Inga Mae Urke at their homes in Glenwood and Starbuck; Dorothy Watzke visitation, at Federated –Morris, the Peter Bremer genealogy presentation at UMM; the open house at Sarlete Music Morris, 4-h awards show at wcroc, adult ed gs-morris, someplace safe pancake breakfast at Old #1, respect for life banquet at Morris e-free church, community club mtg Donnelly, Mary Gades visitation at Zion-Morris, Bible study at GSLC, BBB at Met Lounge
