Welcome to another addition of the Donnelly news.
Weather news: -0 temps and strong winds meant for a cold week, some light snow too
St John’s/Kongsvinger news: Lenten services will again alternate between St John’s (Feb 25th) and Kong (Mar 4th) with a soup supper starting at 6 p.m.
 
Good shepherd news: there will be breakfast following the Mar 8th services to raise funds for parking lot improvements. 
Rev. Burton Hushagen of Fergus Falls passed away on Feb. 16th He was one of several guest pastors at Gslc during our start -up year. Funeral arrangements for him are pending

Other church news:
ST. John’s Lutheran church of Starbuck will offer Sunday Lenten series, at 10:45 a.m. and broadcast over the Morris station(KMRS) 1230AM at 5:35 p.m., all Sundays during Lent beginning on Feb 22nd.-Mar 22nd


The glacial ridge conference assembly of the ELCA that was ppd on Feb 8th has been rescheduled for Feb 22 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran –Alberta
Habitat for humanity pancake breakfast:  today (Sat) 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. @ Hancock community center. Free will donation

Community news: There will be an open house 100th birthday celebration for Marlys Alm today (Sat) from 2 to 4 p.m. at West Wind Village. Everyone is welcome. No gifts, please.   
Mar 2nd Bookmobile will be in town by HD& CO at 3:30 pm, rendsville 4-h and city council will meet at 7 pm at St John’s and community hall
The Stevens county genealogical society will meet on 5th at the West wing village room 108 at 1:30 pm

Death notice: Loretta Asmus of Morris passed away on Feb 14th survivors include her granddaughter in law Nicole (Dohlen) Asmus and her family. Nicole’s grandfather is former Donnelly area resident Clarence Giese. I was among those who attended her visitation at the funeral home on Feb 16th
Celebrations: Keaton Long is a member of the West Central Area Knights wrestling team which won the section 6A wrestling tournament


MACA Tigers Gymnastics Team is the Section 6A Academic Champion and the Class A State Academic Champion GPA of 3.963 using sixteen gymnasts savannah Aanerud was named west central conference player of the week 2/2-2/7 in gymnastics.

Morris FFA: 1st Place Extemp Speaking Savannah Aanerud at the region competition she was also elected a regional officer.
Brook Gillespie is going the state as a member of the Chokio-Alberta business professional of
America chapter, taking 4th in basic office and 2nd in fundamental spreadsheet application
Gabi Nienhaus B honor roll 10-12 gr Hancock H.S.

Past week I attended visitation and funeral for Della Cin and the movie wwjd at Zion Lutheran in Morris
Class of ’55 update Wally is busy putting the finishing touches on the invitation letter hopefully be going in the mail the near future. He is still looking for an Iwatka and some pictures for it.  So far about a dozen classmates have indicated they plan to attend.
