donnelly news

Next edition June 7th-13th
Welcome another edition of the Donnelly news;
Weather news: It has been sunny and mild most of the last week; however some places (i.e. the Morris public library) received water damage due to some localized heavy rains over the weekend.  Crop progress ranges from untouched fields, to crops already being up.
In St. John’s/ Kongsvinger news: there will be joint services at Kongsvinger on June 8th, 15th, 22nd at 9 am followed by Bible study during coffee hour afterwards.
Good Shepherd news: reminder that our services are at 9 am every Sunday followed by coffee fellowship. 
There will be a community Bible school on June 23rd-26th at Zion- Morris this year co-sponsored by Zion and Good Shepherd. Everyone is welcome more info contact either church
The June newsletters for the parish and Good Shepherd are now extra copies are available in the back of all three churches
The all state Lutheran choir will be on tour starting June 14th they will be in Elbow Lake and Alexandria on June 15th the full itinerary is here: http://maslc.org/itinerary.html

Community news: there will be an ice cream social on June 9, at 7:00 p.m. at Donnelly Hall sponsored by Donnelly Community Club, everyone is welcome to come and enjoy a free dish of ice cream.  Rendsville 4-H will be selling pies.  Community club meeting to follow about 8:30 pm
The next community mentoring program is June 12th at 7 p.m. at the Morris area elementary cafeteria.
Carter Fults is one of the beneficiaries of the Tuff luck fun run today (Saturday). “The Place to be” in Donnelly is one of the stops; the Headquarters for the event is the Herman Bar and Grill.  More info 287-0983 or 701-306-7183

Jenna Gibson graduated from Albany H.S. May 23rd .Her grandparents Dorothy and Sam Johrdhiem were among the family members that attended the event.
No little league games in Donnelly this year; however there will be women’s 
sb and horseshoe games
Two upcoming bridal showers at Kongsvinger: for Laura Wolff bride to be of Brian Ennen will be held on June 21st from 9:30-11:30 am and a Post nuptial open house for Hannah Hilton bride to be of David Larson on June 29th from 2-4 pm.  (They are being married today (Saturday)
Pizza Ranch Tip Night to raise money in support of Alisha Gramith on June 8th from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Alisha is a Pizza Ranch employee with serious medical issues and is the daughter of Ron and Sue Wevely of Donnelly and granddaughter of Liz Aschman.

Donnelly area kids winning scholarships at Morris area H.S. were: Beth Holland, Corey Stork, Bryce Jergenson, Carly Gullickson, Shaylyn Johnson, Justine Huebner, Melanie Van Horn (several won multiple ones)
There are several memorial scholarships given by people with Donnelly connections they are:
David Day scholarship winners were Chelsey Ehienger; Paige Leow
Thora (Larson) and William Colley memorial scholarship winners were Kjersa Anderson, Chelsey Ehienger, Paige Loew, and Chase Mohrman
Curtis Van Horn winner was Chelsey Ehleringer
Walker Ernest Koehl was born on May 15 at Stevens Community Medical Center, Morris, to Lucas and Tracy Koehl of Morris. Grandparents are Roy and Jenell Koehl of Morris and Charles and Deb Hacker of Hancock. Great grandparents are Alice Wulf of Lester, Iowa, Don and Janet Hacker of Hancock, and Wanda LeSage of Phoenix, Ariz. His great-great grandmother Millie LeSage was the first Donnelly news correspondent eons ago.
The tiger girls track team finished 7th at the section meet Beth Holland, Kourtney Geise, Rebecca and Savannah Aanerud all finished in the top 15 in their events either individually or as members of a relay team.  All Tiger sports teams are finished for the year it has been enjoyable covering them again this year.


Every so often I will stop into McCollar Jewelry for a visit with Wally he informs me that he is planning on having a 60th class reunion next year so if you are a member of the MHS class of ’55 or know somebody that is keep that in mind. He also informs me that he received a 20 gallon pin from the Red Cross.

Past week captive free concert at Keng. LCMC  block planning mtg. at St J, grad ceremonies at MAHS, Bryce Jergenson's grad open house, agralite meeting in Benson, helped out at naps at Morris sr. center and Mark and I at relay for life fund raiser at scmc afterwards LL game,
