former donnelly area resident Elmer Madison of chokio passed way on Jan 29th. visitation is Tue eve at the funeral home his funeral is Wed Feb 2nd at 10:30 am at first Lutheran in Morris. His brother ed ran a gas station in donnelly for many yrs.

Burton Strand, age 79 of Donnelly, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 31 at 11 a.m. at Kongsvinger Lutheran Church of rural Donnelly, with visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Burila will be held in the spring.

Funeral services for Gladys Amborn of Morris will be held Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Morris. Rev. Dell Sanderson will be officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service 7:30 at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery in Morris.
Gladys Marion Anderson, daughter of Carl and Elsie (Banister) Anderson, was born Aug. 4, 1922 in Framnas Township in Stevens County. Gladys was baptized on Dec. 2, 1922 in Morris and later confirmed into the Lutheran Faith. She grew up in the Alberta area and began her schooling at District #24 Country School. She continued her education at Alberta High School, graduating in 1942. On Sept. 29, 1943, she was united in marriage to Harry Walter Amborn at Peace Lutheran Church in Morris. Following their marriage, the couple purchased a farm near Donnelly, where they farmed and raised their children. Upon their retirement, they moved into Morris. Harry died on March 31, 2002 and Gladys has continued to live in Morris since that time.
Gladys was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Morris. She enjoyed sewing, baking, tatting and embroidery. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren.
Gladys died on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010 at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris, having lived to reach the age of 88 years.
She is survived by seven daughters: Sandy (Fred) Kranitz of Dayton; Donna (Ricky) Madsen of Cape Coral, Fla.; Vicki (Bruce) Strandmark of Byron, Ga.; Kathy Mohr of Morris; Deanna (Jerry) Pekar of Brainerd; JoAnne (Jim) Hauglund of Donnelly and Tammy Ehrp (Jerry Thorstad) of Morris; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Harry; two children: Sharon Amborn and Lester Amborn; one granddaughter: Mackenzie Hauglund; son-in-law: Darell Mohr and siblings: Ethel Doll, Irene Jones, Rose Anderson, Harlie Anderson and Glenn Anderson.
Pallbearers for the service are: Fred Kranitz, Ricky Madsen, Bruce Strandmark, Jerry Pekar, Jim Hauglund and Jerry Thorstad. Honorary pallbearers are all of Glady’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rita Lambert will serve as organist/pianist for the service with Kathy Fynboh serving as soloist. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association and the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation.

On Sat we were all rejoicing at the safe return of the members of our Charlie co Nat guard members. Today that joy has been tempered as we learn of a area soldier's death.
Sgt Kurt Kruize of St Cloud died on Apr 11th of non combat related injuries in Iraq. Among his survivors are his parents Lyle and Bev Kruize of Hancock and grandfather Vernon Kruize of Donnelly.
