June 2nd-8th
Welcome to part 1 of my annual graduation edition of the Donnelly news. This week I have MAHS graduates, next week I will have graduates from other high schools and higher Ed
Weather news: temperatures have been sunny and hot the past week with a few rain showers mixed in, I think most farmers are either done or just about done with planting, the crops that are up look good
St. John's/ Kongsvinger news: the summer schedule with joint services at 9:30 a.m., at Kongsvinger on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays; St. John’s on the 2 and 4th Sundays of each month is now in effect until further notice.  You can find the schedule in the May newsletter; copies are available in the narthex of both churches or from the parish office.
Registration is now open for VBS this summer to be held at Faith-Morris July 30th- Aug 2nd together with Faith, First and Trinity Cyrus, contact the church office for more information 

GSLC NEWS There will be worship services on Wednesday evenings starting in June at 7 p.m.
Dan and Wendy Luthi benefit June 9th 4-7p.m. at GSLC he needs another kidney transplant and his daughter in law (Wendy) is donating hers

Other church news: At faith Morris: outdoor worship on June 3rd at 9 a.m. and a Father’s Day Picnic and Fundraiser June 17th at 11:00 a.m.
Father Stan Wieser will celebrate his 50th Anniversary of his ordination on June 24th in Wheaton; at the Ava Maria Catholic Church .Mass will be at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow. No invitations will be sent all are welcome. Fr. Stan was a priest in Donnelly for a number of years.
There will be a Potluck dinner at the Morris community church on June 2nd at 5 p.m.
Gathering for widows and widowers June 10th at noon at old # 1 –basement, there is an elevator in front of the building.
The city council meets today (Saturday) at 4 p.m. at city hall
On June 4th the bookmobile will be in town on main St. at 3:45 p.m. and the Rendsville 4-h meets at 7 p.m. at ST. John’s
On June 11th the community club meets at the town hall at about 8:30 p.m. and the Donnelly Fire and Rescue will host its Bike Rodeo June 11th at 6p.m. All ages welcome! Don't forget your helmets! Their monthly meeting will follow at 7 p.m.
Herman red hats meet on June 4th at 9 a.m. at A J’ S in Herman. Bring favorite dairy recipe.
RUSC Kinship garden gala June 14th 5-7:30 p.m. at Pomme de park –Morris
Donnelly Rod and Gun club fishing derby June 17th starting with registration at 9 a.m. on Pome De Lake public access ,more info 320-808-3490 or 320 -287-2070

May 26th-June 1
Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news. This edition is dedicated to the memory of my aunt (and “mom”) Pearl who passed away on May 27th, 2010
Weather news: temps have been sunny and mild a lot of field work going on, see some crops are up already, and some farmers are winding up field work.
St. John's/ Kongsvinger news the summer schedule starts on May 27th with joint services at Kongsvinger at 9:30 a.m. In June, July, and August there will be joint services at a 9:30 a.m. at Kongsvinger on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sunday’s St. John’s on the 2 and 4th Sundays.  You can find the schedule in the May newsletter; copies are available in the narthex of both churches or from the parish office

donnelly news

May 19th-25th
Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.
Weather news: well temps have been relatively mild for most of the past week. Although I have not personally seen much field activity I have been told that most farmers are very busy in the fields
St. John's/ Kongsvinger news: Baccalaureate Sunday will be held on May 20th, at St John’s starting with Brunch at 10 A.M. followed by joint services at 11 A.M. We have two H.S. graduates this year one from each church, plus several higher Ed grads. Also, I tentatively plan to have my annual graduation recognition column on June 2nd, so if you do have any graduates in the family or know of any, please let me know ASAP

Other church news The Federated Women’s Fellowship will meet on May 25th, at noon at the Brick house. Please bring a dollar for the health kits. After lunch we will go to the church and put the health kits together. On May 20th at 11 am Federated church will be cleaning up their portion of the highway meet at the county garage.

On May 21st The Bookmobile will be in town on Main St from 3:45-4 p.m. and at 7 p.m. the firemen meet at the fire hall

Donnelly collected$100 and 216.5 lbs. of food in the recent “stamp out hunger” campaign
Death notice Vivian Johnson of Wendell passed away on May 14th survivors include her daughter Sandy (Lowell) Dunn and family of the Donnelly/Herman area.
Committal service for former Donnelly resident Dick Goldenstein will be held on May 20th at 2 p.m. at Vinger cemetery by Donnelly
Track and field Ortonville invite: boys 1st girls 2nd, 100 m dash Lydia Fynboh first, 3200 m run Cheyenne Baumgart 4th, shot put Islande Sperr 7th, 110 hurdles Micah Aanerud 5th, West Central conference boys & girls 2nd; Brady Cardwell discus 8th, 100 m dash 16th, 100 m Lydia Fynboh 8th 3200 Cheyenne Baumgart 12th, Islande speer 17th, Lydia was also part of the 4x100 relay team that placed 5th
The Donnelly community club held another lengthy meeting Monday evening as we continue to make plans for the bee and other events. As of now we are not planning any major changes to the schedule that we have had for a number of years. The 2019 feature will be gas engines, the next meeting on June 11 about 8:30 p.m.
Congrats to Monroe and Cheryl (Armstrong) Estenson who recently received the St co pay it forward award Cheryl is a former Donnelly area resident

May 12th-19th
Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news. I want to wish my Mom a Happy Mother’s Day up in Heaven.
Weather news: well temps have been relatively mild for most of the past week. Farmers are busy in the field, although as I am writing this Wednesday evening, we got about 2 “of rain on Tuesday
St. John's/ Kongsvinger news: Baccalaureate Sunday will be held on May 20th, starting with Brunch at 10 A.M. followed by joint services at 11 A.M. at St John’s, we have one H.S. graduate from each Church this year. If you have an H.S. or a Higher Ed grad this year, please let the parish office know ASAP. Also, I tentatively plan to have my annual graduation recognition column on June 2nd, so if you do have any graduates, please let me know too

May 5th-11th
Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news
Weather news: well temps have been relatively mild for most of the past wk. Some strong winds have made it feel cold. Saw a few farmers had been out in the field, I am unsure if there have been any crops planted yet.
St. John's/ Kongsvinger news: There will be an open house bridal shower for Katie Skadeland bride to be of Danny Ennen today (Saturday) at Kongsvinger 9:30-11:30 a.m.
On May 6th at during services at Kongsvinger, there will be a dedication of the barbed wire cross given in memory of David Haynes and the defibrillator provided in memory of Steve Larson. It is also cradle roll Sunday and adopted grandparents day at Sunday school
There will be a special congregational meeting at St. John’s following services on May 6th, to vote on a change in the constitution to reduce the number needed for a quorum for a meeting; however, 20 members still need to be present for this meeting
Baccalaureate Sunday will be held on May 20th, starting with Brunch at 10 A.M. followed by joint services at 11 A.M. at St John’s, we have one H.S. graduate from each Church this year. If you have an H.S. or a Higher Ed grad this year, please let the parish office know ASAP. Also, I tentatively plan to have my annual graduation recognition column on June 2nd, so if you do have any graduates, please let me know too
