June 1st-7th
Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.
Weather news: it rained off and on during the holiday weekend, but we have had lovely sunny days to start the work week. Some farmers have gotten some fields worked and planted, but have only seen a couple of fields where the crop is up.
 ST. John's/ Kongsvinger news: joint services at 9:30 a.m. on 1st, 3rd, 5th Sundays of the month at Kongsvinger, 2nd, 4th Sunday at ST. John’s followed by a coffee hour at both churches. Communion service 1st and 4th Sundays

GSLC news: Randy Freud will be the guest preacher and lead Adult Ed on June 2nd
Summer services start on June 5th at 7 p.m.
All –state Lutheran choir June 16th 7 p.m. 1st Lutheran Morris
Herman Red Hats will meet June 3rd at 9 a.m. at Anderson Acres Nursery by Alberta, followed by lunch in Morris. Bring a planter to fill or get one there.
The Stevens county genealogical society, will not meet in June, The next mtg is August 1st at the library,  
The City council meeting scheduled for today (Saturday) has been re-scheduled for June 3rd at 7 p.m.
Donnelly community club meeting is on June 10th at 8:30 p.m.
Rendsville 4-h meets on June 9th at 3 p.m. at Kongsvinger to bake pies followed by a potluck supper. Note change of day/time and meeting place
An open house 50th wedding anniversary celebration for Delano and Linda Meyer will be held on Sunday, June 2, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 206 East 4th St., Herman.
RUSC kinship annual garden gala Pomme De Park June 11th 5-7:30 p.m.

HD and CO in Donnelly has closed its doors
An open house bridal shower for Samantha Henrichs, bride to be of Mason Deal, will be held on Saturday, June 22nd, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Morris Senior Center. The couple has registered at B Inspired, Menards, Target and Sag's Hardware in Wheaton
Open house bridal shower for Britany Cardwell bride to be of Philip Messner June 15th 9-11 am Kongsvinger parish hall
Visitation for former Donnelly area resident Marge Sherstad will be from 10-11 a.m., followed by a celebration of life at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 8, at Restoration Church in Glenwood. Interment will be in Summit Cemetery in Morris. She passed away on Dec.6 ‘18
Past week: BBB met lounge, grad ceremony at MAHS, Memorial Day services at armory and lunch afterward at the Legion

Weather news: a cold, rainy weekend gave way to a sunny start to the week

ST. John's/Kongsvinger news: joint services at 9:30 a.m.; on May 26th at St John's and June 2nd at Kongsvinger followed by coffee hour

I will have my annual graduation recognition issue sometime in the next few weeks, so please let me know if you have any graduates or open houses

May 18th-24th
Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.
Weather news: some warmer drier weather means most farmers in the area are busy in the fields getting the ground worked up and crops planted
S.T. John's/ Kongsvinger news: joint services at 9:30 a.m., on May 19 at Kongsvinger followed by graduation reception in the parish hall; on May 26 at St John's followed by coffee hour
We have two H.S.Grads, and one higher ed Grad from Kongsvinger this year. I will have my annual graduation recognition issue sometime in the next few weeks, so please let me know if you have any graduates.

Several Morris area churches are sponsoring a  free showing of the movie unplanned on May 19 at the Morris theater, free will offering more info/tickets 585-6868

Agralite annual meeting is on May 20 at Benson H.S. starting with supper at 5:30 p.m.

Audrey Ruplinger of Alex passed away on May 13 survivors include her granddaughter former Donnelly area resident Amy Searle and her family
Benjamin Bradley Backman born on May 7 to Kris Backman of Minneapolis, his grandparents, are Brad and Jonna Backman of Morris, great–grandmother is Liz Aschman of Morris

May 11th-17th
Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news. I want to I wish my mother a happy mother's day up in Heaven
Weather news: the past week has been mostly sunny and cool, seen a few fields worked up in the area and a former neighbor doing some planting, however as I am writing this on Wednesday aft, it has been raining .most  of the day
ST. John's/ Kongsvinger news: joint services at 9:30 a.m., on May 12th at St John's and on May 19th at Kongsvinger followed by coffee hour
Baccalaureate Sunday is May 19th, if anybody has an h.s and/or higher Ed grad, please let the parish office know a.s.a.p., we have two h.s. Patty Stahn of Chokio passed away on May 2nd survivors include her husband former Donnelly area resident Art Stahn
Former Donnelly area resident Marie Jean Smith Farmer of Franklin KY passed away on April 30th survivors include her cousin Marcia Schroeder of Alberta formerly of Donnelly and sister in law Jan (Smith)  Bumgardner of Morris
Abner Jacobson of Benson passed away on May 7th. Many of you will remember that he and the late George Willie of Donnelly cried many auctions in the area over the years
An open house bridal shower for Hannah McNally, bride to be of Jeremy Michaelson, will be 1 p.m., today (Saturday), at Old No. 1 Bar and Grill in Morris

May 4th-10th
Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.

Weather news: after a beautiful week temps have cooled off this week and we have had some light rain the past few days. Have read/ heard of a few fields being planted including at the “experiment station” here in Morris but so far have not seen anybody in the fields around here. When I was on the farm, I knew field work was underway by the steady stream of Donnelly co-op vehicles going past my place, but here in town, I do not see that.

first communion Sunday is May 5th. Cradle roll and adopted grandparent Sunday on May 5th after services. It is also the last day of s.s.

Baccalaureate Sunday is May 19th, if anybody has an h.s or higher Ed grad, please let the parish office know a.s.a.p., also I will have my annual grad recognition issue sometime in the next month so let me know if you have any

3b has resumed every Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the met lounge

GSLC news: there will be a potluck dinner and celebration on May 5th to honor Jon and Ruth Arndt for their many years of service to Good Shepherd. They are retiring and moving to Fargo.



On May 6th Herman Red Hats will meet at 9 a.m. at AJ's.-Herman, The Bookmobile will be in town on main st from 3:45-4 p.m. The rendsville 4-h club mtg has been ppd, new time date TBA

May 13th Donnelly fire department meets at the fire hall, and the community club meets at city hall both 7 p.m.

Brad Heil of Morris passed away on April 27th survivors include his daughter Ann (Brian) Erdahl of Morris, Brian is a former Donnelly area resident

Former Donnelly area resident Roger Recker of Morris passed away on April 28th
