Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.

Weather news: temps have been nice in the past week; a lot of snow has melted but it may be short-lived given what the forecast for the weekend says (more snow)
St. John’s/ Kongsvinger news:  Annual meeting on January 28th at Kongsvinger after services, followed by a potluck dinner. Note that services times will switch on January 28th   with services at St. John’s at 8:30 a.m. and Kongsvinger at 11 p.m.  The ST. John’s annual meeting that was scheduled for January 21st was unable to be held due to a lack of quorum so it has been rescheduled for February 11th following the 11 a.m. services.

Other church news: February 4 - Super Bowl Sunday at Hosanna worship center. Pre-game activities at the church will start at 9:30 a.m.  At 10 a.m. we will hear from a professional athlete about finding Christ.  Wear your favorite jersey and bring a friend.

Widows and widowers are invited to Sunday lunches at noon in the basement at Old #1, Morris on the following Sundays: February 11, March 11, April 8, May 6, June 10, July 8, August 5, September 9, October 14, November 11, December 9. All widows/widowers are invited, for lunch on their own and fellowship! Questions, call Rose Murphy, Grief Care Coordinator, Pedersen Funeral Home there is an elev. in front of Bldg.  

Open house baby shower for Andrea (Max) Koehntop on January 27th from 2-4 p.m. at faith-Morris
Bridal Shower for Beth Holland will be held on Saturday, February 3rd from 9:00-11:00am at First Lutheran Church. Beth is the bride-to-be of Chandler Erickson and they are registered at Herberger’s, Target and B Inspired. Beth’s parents are Joe and Linda Holland of Donnelly; Chandler’s are Dean and Jeri Erickson of Chokio
Stevens’ county Republican Party caucuses will be held on February 6th at 7 pm at the old # 1 Southside. The executive committee will meet there are at 6 pm
Jim and Lou Eystad furnished the lunch at Good Shepherd on January 21 in honor of their 64th wedding anniversary on January 17th

Death notices: Millie Lindgren of Fargo passed away on January 19th survivors include her nephew, former Donnelly area resident Mark Koepke of Morris
Former Donnelly area resident Marjorie Mesenbrink of Alberta passed away on January 20th
February 19th Wally McCollar and I traveled to St Stephens’s church in Bloomington for the memorial service for Dick Goldenstein. Plans are to have 2nd memorial service and lunch at Gs later this yr.  and a committal service at Vinger
Past week, adult Ed at Gs, rod and gun club fishing tournament on Pomme De Terre Lake, indoor sale at heartland Mtrs, adult Ed at Gs, Rusc warm hearts and hot dishes at faith, twins caravan at Morris area elementary school, BBB at met lounge

Jan 20th-26th
Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.

Weather news: well temperatures have moderated some after another bitter cold snap over the wkend and the early part of the wkend. Also have gotten several inches of snow
St. John’s/ Kongsvinger news:  Annual meetings are on January 21st (St John’s) and January 28th (Kongsvinger) both meetings will be held after services, followed by a potluck dinner. Note that services times will switch on January 28th   with services at St. John’s at 8:30 a.m. and Kongsvinger at 11 p.m.
Gslc news: there will be a program about Mt Carmel during Adult Ed on January 21st.


January 21 there will be a special mtg at 1st-Morris following the 9:30 a.m. service for purpose on voting to call a new pastor followed by their annual meeting

Pedersen Funeral Home has begun a new ministry,  that started on Sunday, January 14th, at 12:00 noon, (and monthly, thereafter) If you are experiencing life as a widow/widower, you are invited to join us for lunch to visit with old friends, and meet some new who are also going through what you are.  Lunch is on your own, ordering off the menu in the basement of the Old Number One (elevator available in front). 

Warm hearts and hot dishes sponsored by RUSC Kinship mentoring will be held on January 23rd at 5 p.m. at faith Morris, tickets available at the door. Former Donnelly resident Erin Koehntop of Morris is the new director of the Org.

Jim & Lou Eystad celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on January 17th

Death notices: Bill Dripps of Morris passed away on January 14th local survivors include his son Dan (Jackie) Dripps of Morris. He was preceded in death by this wife Mary Olsen of Donnelly
Former Donnelly area resident Gordy Bredy of Hoffman passed away on January 15th
Past week, adult Ed at Gs (w/Eystad’s) BBB at met lounge, Bill Dripps visitation, and funeral at first Lutheran-Morris, a visit to Harold Rippe and Pr Norm and Ramona Olsen at their homes in Glenwood and Starbuck

Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.


Weather news: well after several weeks of bitter cold, temps have moderated enough to melt some of the snow and ice around the area, however as I am writing this a winter storm is predicted for the next several days

Donnelly youth club meets on January 17th at 4 p.m.
On January 15th the Donnelly fire department meets at 7 p.m. at fire hall
Donnelly rod & gun club annual's ice fishing tournament is Jan 20th starting at 9 am on Pomme De Terre Lake (public access)
DFD bar bingo on Jan 20th at 7 pm at place to be -Donnelly

James Floyd Crummie of Donnelly passed away on January 8th local survivors include his wife Anna, daughter Margret (Clay) Rundquist and their family all of Donnelly
Former Donnelly area resident Oliver Alexander Hansen of Elbow Lake passed away on January 8th local survivors include his cousin Gary (Karen) Uphoff of Donnelly and their family
Celebrations: Brendan Steve Woodke was born to Derek and Elysia Woodke of Kensington, on December 28th, grandparents are Steve and Molly Woodke of Alex, great-grandparents are the late Donald and Beverly (Anderson) Woodke, Bev was from Donnelly
Past week, a visit to my aunt pearl in her apt in Skyview, adult Ed and bible study at Gs (w/Eystad’s) BBB at met lounge

Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news. Happy New Year

Weather news: the New Year’s weekend was marked by bitter cold temperatures and wind chills
St. John’s/ Kongsvinger news: un-decorating of both churches will take place on January 7th, at St. John’s following a pot luck dinner, following the 11 a.m. services, and following coffee hour at Kongsvinger
 Annual meetings are January 21st (St John’s) January 28th (Kongsvinger) meetings will be held after services followed by a dinner. Note that services times will switch on January 28th. Reports for annual reports are due today (Saturday)
Gslc news: Bible study resumes on January 9th
Donnelly youth club meets on January 17th at 4 p.m.
 On January 8th The Bookmobile will be in town, in front of HD and co, from 3:45-4 p.m. and the Donnelly fire department meets at 7 p.m. at fire hall
City council meets today (Saturday) at 4 p.m.at city hall
Rendsville 4-h meets on January 8th at 7 p.m. at St. John’s -Donnelly
Herman red hatters will meet on January 8th at AJ’s in Herman at 9 a.m.

Death notices: Norene G. Kaehler of Morris passed away on December 20th survivors include her brother in law Milford Kaehler of Donnelly and his family. Her memorial service will be held on January 24th at Zion in Morris at 11 a.m.
  Lorraine Awsumb of Morris passed away on December 31st; local survivors include her nephew Craig, and her niece Pat (Mark) Smith of Donnelly and their family. Her funeral is January 12th at 2 p.m. at Kongsvinger

Former Donnelly area resident Jodie (Toots) (Goldenstein) Janke passed away on December 26th, local survivors include her brother, Charlie Goldenstein of Chokio
