Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.
Weather News: well after spending a lot of time in the cold digging out temps warmed up last week, and it was nice to be out and about some without having to bundle up
Donnelly church news: There will be joint services at 9:30 a.m. on the first 1st,3rd, and 5th Sundays at Kongsvinger, the 2nd, and 4th Sundays of the month at ST. John's followed by Sunday school and coffee fellowship.
Communion services are on the 1st and 4th Sundays of the month
No KLCW in February
Broadcasts available for sponsorship in 2020 are 4/26, 7/5, 9/13 and 12/13. To sponsor one contact the parish office.
Rev. Mike Nelson, who has been the parish pastor for 4+ years has announced he is retiring and will be leaving Donnelly in May.
Good Shepherd Lutheran church news: Lynn Watzke is the new church secretary, she started work on February 1st
The sermon is broadcast every Sunday on KKOK 95.7 at 10:30 a.m.
No bible study today (Tue.)
BBB will continue at 7 p.m. at the Fireside restaurant in Morris on Wednesday evenings until Ash Wednesday.
The Bookmobile will be in town on Main St. on February 10th from 2:45–3 p.m. note new time
No Donnelly community club or Stevens county Genealogical society meetings in February

There will be an open house 90th birthday party for Andy Brevig at Kongsvinger on February 8th, 1–3 p.m.

Harlow Jo Schmidt was born January 19th at SCMC –Morris to Nick and Carrie Schmidt. Grandparents include Russ Roske of Donnelly and John and Holly Riley of Morris.
Congratulations to Dale and Jeanne Ennen, who recently welcomed their 2nd and 3rd granddaughters to their family
Liana Lien and Jake long are engaged to be married. There will be a bridal shower for them on February 8th, 9–11 a.m. at the Hoffman community center. His family is from the Herman /Donnelly area registered at Target, Menards, and Amazon
Ndsu honors list includes Micah Aanerud of Donnelly.

Jan 30th-Feb 4th
Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.
Weather News: we had another winter storm over the weekend (17-19th), meaning most schools in the area canceled classes on Fri. Many businesses were closed or had limited hrs. Etc. Many churches canceled services on Sunday a.m., so much of the weekend was spent digging out.
Donnelly church news: There will be joint services at 9:30 a.m. on the first 1st,3rd, and 5th Sundays at Kongsvinger, the 2nd, and 4th Sundays of the month at St John's followed by Sunday school and coffee fellowship.
Communion services are on the 1st and 4th Sundays of the month
Kongsvinger's postponed annual meeting is on February 2nd after services followed by a pot luck dinner

Herman red hats meet on February 3rd at 9 a.m. at AJ's Herman
Paul Jost of Alex formerly of Morris passed away on January 16th. He served the Donnelly area as a board member of the Agralite co-op for 21 years in the ’70s and ‘80’s
Arnold Ennen of the Herman area passed away on January 17th survivors include his son Dale (Jeanne) Ennen and family of the Donnelly area
 Loianne Frank of Sauk Rapids passed away on January 18th. Survivors include her husband, former Donnelly resident Elroy Frank of Waite Park. If you wish to send him a sympathy card, his address is 500 3rd St. S. #122 Waite Park MN 56387. A memorial /committal service will be held later this year in Alex
Congrats to Les Kopel Donnelly, who was recently named the fair person of the year for district seven at the Minnesota Association of county fairs meeting held recently in the cities.
Congrats to Jackson Loge of the MAHS tiger BB team on joining the 1,000 point club recently.

New address: Jim and Lou Eystad C% of the Legacy 622 E 7th St. room 150 Morris MN 56267. For those of you have not heard he had a stroke a few months ago
Some former Donnelly area residents recently celebrated some significant milestones David Jergenson celebrated his 102 birthday, Bertha Larson her 98th, and Jim and Lou Eystad their 66th wedding anniversary.
Past week services at 1st Lutheran Morris, MLK Community meal at MAES, bible study at gslc, Jost visitation -Alex. Everything else was canceled or PPD due to the weather.

January 21st, Wally McCollar and I attended the benefit for Randy and Lujean theilke at the Hancock school.

Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news. my column this week is dedicated to my aunt ("mom") Pearl A. Anderson who passed away on January 20th, 2019
Weather News: it has turned cold again with some light snow and blowing and drifting
Donnelly church news: There will be joint services at 9:30 a.m. on the first 1st,3rd, and 5th Sundays at Kongsvinger, the 2nd, and 4th Sundays of the month at St John's followed by Sunday school and coffee fellowship.
Communion services are on the 1st and 4th Sundays of the month
The annual church meetings are on January 26th (ST. John's) following joint services about 10:30 a.m., followed by a furnished dinner. (Free will offering) not potluck as announced earlier
No KCLW in February

Rev David Webster of Butterfield MN passed away on December 21st. About 25 yrs ago he was an interim pastor at St John's and Kongsvinger in Donnelly.

The Tiger boys BB was runner up in the Fergus falls tournament recently Jackson Loge is a member of that team.
After services on January 12th, I stopped to visit Vedar Harstad at his apartment in green river apts. On June 14th, I attended the Storm chili feed and a boys hockey game at the Lee Center Morris.

Weather News: after a cold week temps have moderated some this week, but there is a lot of snow and ice out there meaning one has to be careful about walking and driving
Donnelly church news: There will be joint services at 9:30 a.m. on the first 1st,3rd, and 5th Sundays at Kongsvinger, the 2nd, and 4th Sundays of the month at St John's followed by Sunday school and coffee fellowship.
Communion services are on the 1st and 4th Sundays of the month
The annual church meetings are on January 19th (Kongsvinger), and January 26th (ST. John's) both meetings following joint services about 10:30 a.m. Kongsvinger will have a potluck dinner st John’s will have a furnished dinner afterward not a potluck as previously announced

Wally McCollar and I attended the 90th birthday party for Delores Bruns at the Barrett Care center on January 5th
The Kopacek family and I were among those who attended the funeral for Laurie Dornquist January 7th at Faith Morris
Don Stroman of Chokio passed away on December 30th. Survivors include his daughter-in-law Karen of Az. She worked at the Donnelly bank for several years

The MBA storm won their hockey tournament during the Christmas break Brady Loge is a member of that team.
