Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.
Weather news: well we have had some beautiful weather in between all the rain we have had, crops look nice so far
St. John's/ Kongsvinger news: the summer schedule with joint services at 9:30 a.m., at Kongsvinger on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays; St. John’s on the 2 and 4th Sundays of each month is now in effect until further notice.  You can find the schedule in the June newsletter; copies are available in the narthex of both churches or from the parish office.
Registration is now open for VBS this summer which will take place at Faith-Morris July 30th- Aug 2nd together with Faith, First and Trinity Cyrus, contact the church office for more information 
Sunday school meeting June 24th at 6:30 p.m. at ST. John’s for all Sunday school kids and families
ANNUAL FOURTH OF JULY Fellowship Gathering will be held on Wednesday, July 4th, at the Kongsvinger Parish Hall, with flag-raising at 11:30 a.m.  Come, reflect on the day, and enjoy a POTLUCK dinner together (ice cream, bread, beverages furnished). Everyone is Welcome!
GSLC NEWS There will be worship services every Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. until August 29th
Splash canyon VBS in conjunction with Zion-Morris will take place on June 25-28th, 1-4 p.m. at Zion contact either church office for more details
Pastor Dave and Sara Horn will be playing, singing and preaching at the church on July 1st at 9 a.m. everyone welcome
Other church news: There will be an Ice cream social at ST. John’s Starbuck June 24th starting at 11 a.m. free will offering
Father Stan Wieser will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of his ordination on June 24th in Wheaton; at the Ava Maria Catholic Church. Mass will be at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow. No invitations will be sent all are welcome. Fr. Stan was a priest in Donnelly for a number of years in the ‘70’s.
Knights of Columbus pig roast today (Saturday) 4-8 p.m. in the Assumption church parking lot
 Herman Red Hats will meet at the Grant County Fair for Lunch on Friday, July 20 at 11 a.m. Dutch treat
The Donnelly community club is looking for volunteers to be in charge of and/or be a helper for the white elephant sale, the car show, and the kiddie parade at the threshing bee. If interested contact Corrine Kruize at 246-3337
Death notices:  former Donnelly area resident Virginia Dornquast Strand of Welch MN passed away on June 14th
Carol Boetcher of Morris passed away on June 13th survivors include her son Ed (Lori) and family of Donnelly
An 80th Birthday Party for Monroe Estenson will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. today (Saturday) at the Morris American Legion. No gifts, please.
An open house bridal shower for Keli Pry, bride-to-be of Corey Lembcke, will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 30 at the Pomme de Terre Golf Club clubhouse in Morris. The couple is registered at Target and Amazon. Everyone is welcome. Come and go as you please.
 Geo and Aryls Pederson are having a household sale on Saturday, June 23rd 8 A.M.-8 P.M.

The threshing bee royalty was part of the Runestone days parade in Kensington on June 17th and also helped out with RUSC kinship garden gala on June 14th

June 9th-15th

Weather news: temperatures continue to be nice we had several inches of rain on Saturday and Monday

Death notices: Joseph M Helsper, 92, of Tempe, AZ passed away June 1st.  He is survived by his wife, former Donnelly area resident Shirley Ann Larson Helsper, and her family and sister in law former Donnelly area resident Gloria Larson and her family


Nancy Lyman passed away on June 7th; survivors include her daughter former Donnelly resident Amie Uphoff of Morris

The threshing bee royalty were part of the Chokio community picnic parade on June 9th and helped serve ice cream at the annual ice cream social in Donnelly on June 11th

The Donnelly Community club had their monthly meeting after the ice cream social on June 11th as we continue to make plans for the bee. As of now most events should be the same as they were last year, posters and buttons should be here in about a month. Time and date and place of next mtg TBA

Welcome to part 2 of my annual graduation edition of the Donnelly news. This week I have the graduates from other high schools and Higher Ed

Dan and Wendy Luthi benefit June today (Saturday) 4-7p.m. at GSLC. He needs another kidney transplant, and his daughter in law (Wendy) is donating hers. There will be a meal and silent auction free will donation

Gathering for widows and widowers June 10th at noon at old # 1 –basement, there is an elevator in front of the building.
On June 11th the community club meets at the town hall at about 8:30 p.m. and the Donnelly Fire and Rescue will host its Bike Rodeo June 11th at 6p.m. All ages welcome! Don't forget your helmets! Their monthly meeting will follow at 7 p.m.

Theo Jerome Honzay was born May 30, 2018, at Stevens Community Medical Center to LeAnn and Benjamin Honzay of Donnelly, MN. Theo weighed 9 lbs. 2 oz.; and was 20 1/2 in. long. Grandparents are Sharon VanHorn of Morris, MN, Clay and Marlene VanHorn of Donnelly, MN, Ron and Joan Honzay of Olivia, MN. Great-grandparents are Myron and Elain Frank of Willmar, MN.
Kaitlyn Asmus and Tucker Picht of Morris are happy to announce the birth of their son Easton Michael Asmus. He was born May 12, 2018, at Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood and weighed 7 pounds, 12 ounces and was 20 inches long. He is welcomed by grandparents Nichole Dohlen Asmus and the late Kurt Asmus, both from Morris, and Wayne and Terri Picht of Chokio, and his aunt Lea Asmus, and his uncle Justin Asmus of Morris. Great-grandparents are Gerald and Sharon (Giese) Dohlen of Cyrus, great-great-grandfather is Clearance Giese of Morris, formerly of Donnelly
Jim and Bonnie Fabian of Herman passed away on May 31st, and June 1st survivors include her mother Pearl A. Anderson of Morris formerly of Donnelly
