Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news
Weather news: well it appears that old man winter has finally gone in hibernation and allowed spring to come forth with some sunny, warm weather especially on Monday, most of the snow has melted, and temperatures have warmed up enough to start drying things out.
St. John's/ Kongsvinger news: There will be an open house bridal shower for Katie Skadeland bride to be of Danny Ennen on May 5th at Kongsvinger 9:30-11:30 a.m.
Madison Alatha Ennen is the newest member of God's family at Kongsvinger. Madison is the daughter of Brian and Laura Ennen; grandparents are Dale and Jeanne Ennen
There will be a special congregational meeting at St. John’s following services on May 6th, to vote on a change in the constitution to reduce the number needed for a quorum for a meeting; however, 20 members still need to be present for this meeting
Baccalaureate Sunday will be held on May 20th, starting with Brunch at 10 A.M. followed by joint services at 11 A.M. at St John’s, we have one H.S. graduate from each Church this year. If you have an H.S. or a Higher Ed grad this year, please let the parish office know ASAP. Also, I tentatively plan to have my annual graduation recognition column on June 2nd, so if you do have any graduates, please let me know too
 GSLC NEWS after Sunday services, on April 29, there will be an open forum to continue our discussion about finances and mission support. 
There will be a steeple dedication during the May 6th service
There will be a National day of prayer celebration at Morris Evangelical Free church on May 3rd at 7 P.M.
The Stevens county genealogical society meets on May 3rd 1:30 p.m. at the Morris library
Marian Grossman will be in concert, at Bethlehem Lutheran Herman on April 29th, starting with a luncheon at 11:30 a.m.
 The City council meets on May 5th at 4 p.m. at city hall
The Bookmobile will be in town on May 7th on Main St. at 3:45-4 p.m. The Rendsville 4-h meets at 7 p.m. at St. John’s
There will be an Open house bridal shower for Mariah Eystad and Connor Hanson today (Saturday) from 10 a.m.-noon at the Morris Eagle’s back room. Her parents are Dale and Connie (Henrichs) Eystad
Herman Red Hats will meet May 7th at 11:00 a.m. at Hunan Spring Restaurant in Fergus Falls
Rummage sale to benefit Max and Megan Koehntop’s adoption fund continues today (Saturday) at 7 South Oregon, Morris from 8 a.m.-1 P.M. his parents are Roger and Bonnie

The Kids in Christ preschool's ABC sale will be held on May 3rd, (3-6 p.m.), and the 4th (2-4 p.m.), at Zion Lutheran Church, in Morris.
An open house 50th wedding anniversary for Barry and Donna Gades will be held on Saturday, May 5 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Hotel 200 Pool Area. No gifts, please.
Congratulations to Burdell Strand who recently celebrated 40 years with New Horizons Ag Services.
Beth Holland and Chandler Erickson were married on April 21st at St. Mary’s church in Chokio. Parents are Dean and Jerri Erickson of Chokio and Joe and Linda Holland of Donnelly

Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news, this column marks the start of my 11th year doing this Manga Takk to all my loyal readers out there for supporting my work
Weather news: “If you do not like the weather in Mn. just wait, and it will change.” We woke up to several inches snow on Saturday morning, by late aft /early eve much of it had melted. Sunday was kind of cool, but not too bad. Monday brought us more snow, and we had a storm on Tuesday. Some of the snow melted on Wednesday
 St. John's/ Kongsvinger news: On April 8th there will be the installation of council members at both churches during services
St John's spring fling ppd to April 21st at the church from 10:30 A.M. – 1 P.M. bake/white elephant/card sale and lunch served
GSLC NEWS: there will be a family fun day at Gs on April 8th starting at 3 pm with board games and a potluck dinner at 5 pm
There will be an open forum after Sunday service's on April 22 and 29 to begin our discussion.  Pastor Randy Freund of the Augustana District will join us on that day to give us an overview of mission needs in our area as well as abroad
Bridges of Hope, a support group for those grieving the loss of a loved one is being held Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m., and Tuesdays at 10: 00 a.m., call the funeral home for information  
Widows and widowers meet on April 8th for lunch in the basement of the old #1 there is an elevator in the front of the building
CROP walk on April 8th starting with registration at about 12:30 p.m. at the Federated Church
Glacial ridge women of the elca will meet on April 23rd at Trinity –Benson, with registration starting at 4 p.m., at 6:15 p.m. there will be a concert by the Benson 9th grade girls’ choir and a presentation about 25 years at the Heartland Ranch of Benson
Marian Grossman will be performing at Zion Lutheran-Morris on April 8th potluck lunch at 11:30 am the recital at 1 pm
The following events are being held today (Saturday) Kurt Kruize memorial scholarship dinner starting at 3 p.m. at the Hancock community center. ( His grandfather is from Donnelly ); the Donnelly city council at city hall at 4 p.m., RUSC Kinship 3rd annual Quarter Kraze at 3 p.m. at the legion Morris, An open house bridal shower honoring Laura Johnson, bride-to-be of Tyler Roske, will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Federated Church in Morris. The couple is registered at Target. Please bring your favorite recipe for the bride to be, Easter egg hunt at Hosanna worship center at 11 a.m. (ppd from last week) Morris community church fellowship 4-8 p.m. at the church
We are happy to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of Laura Johnson and Tyler Roske. Parents of the bride are Amanda and Chris Graham, Ellabell, GA and Paul Johnson, Morris. Parents of the groom are Holly and John Riley, Morris and Russell Roske, Donnelly. A June 2, 2018 wedding is being planned.
Donnelly community club meeting scheduled for April 9th has been postponed to April 16th 7 p.m. at the community hall. The firemen will also meet at 7 p.m. at the fire hall that night. Stacy (Volker) Peterson was the winner of the hoodie for those that joined the community club.
