Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news. Merry Christmas

Weather news: well temps have decent again this week. Most of the snow has melted.

St. John's/ Kongsvinger news: On December 23rd, there will be joint services at St John’s at 9:30 a.m. followed by coffee hour and at Kongsvinger on December 30th followed by coffee hour. No S.S. on December 23rd and 30th
.
“Give cancer the boot” donation containers for the Ryan Winter’s family are available in the back of both churches until late December.

There will be joint Services on Christmas Eve at 8 p.m. at St John’s and Christmas Day at Kongsvinger at 9:30 a.m.

GSLC NEWS: Christmas Eve services are at 5 p.m.; Christmas day at 10 a.m.

December 23rd John Swenson from paradise theater will give a presentation “Celebrate the Child” during regular services at 9 a.m.

Other church news: upcoming activities at Faith Lutheran-Morris include the “living nativity” December 24th at 3 and 5 p.m.

There will be a community Christmas dinner again this year at noon at First Lutheran Morris free will donation.

Armond Luke Burrow was born December 10th, at Stevens Community Medical Center to James and Jena Burrow of Morris, MN. Grandparents are Scott and Beth Heinrich of Morris, MN and Dan and Jean Burrow of Rochester, MN. Great-grandmother is Lillian Heinrich of Morris, MN. Scott and Lillian are both former Donnelly area residents.

Most Donnelly business will be closing early Christmas Eve and closed all day on Christmas day. I know HD and co will also be closed on December 22nd.

Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.

Weather news: well the temps have moderated some this week, and we have seen some sunshine.

St. John's/ Kongsvinger news: Joint services on December 16th at Kongsvinger at 9:30 a.m. with coffee fellowship and Sunday school afterward, on December 23rd, there will be joint services at St John’s at 9:30 a.m. followed by coffee hr.  No S.S. on December 23rd and 30th
.

GSLC NEWS: On December 16th the Sunday school kids will present their program during the regularly scheduled service at 9:30 am; Christmas Eve services are at 5 pm Christmas day at 10 a.m.

Advent services conclude on December 18th at 7 p.m.

On December 3rd I stopped into City center mall to wish Wally McCollar a Happy birthday.

Be sure to look at the new community Christmas tree in the park in Donnelly.

An open house Meet and Greet for: Greta Grace Bothun, daughter of Ryan and Rachel (Werk) Bothun, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. today (Saturday), at the Jerry Werk home, 22662 120th St., Herman. Everyone is welcome. She will also be baptized on December 16th during the joint services at Kongsvinger.

An open house bridal shower for Max Feuchtenberger and Gabi Nienhaus will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 20, at the Apostolic Christian Fellowship Hall on Hwy 9.her grandmother is Geesien (Kruize) Kill a former Donnelly area resident.

Donnelly youth club at St. John's 19th [Wednesday] 4-6 P.M.

Former Donnelly area resident Marge Sherstad of Alexandria passed away on December 7th. Her sister told me there will be no funeral services for her.

Leo Riley of Morris passed away on December 9th he was proceeded in death by his mother Betty Kopel of Donnelly.

Past week visitations for Don Hacker and Audrey Erickson at Pedersen funeral home, Hacker funeral at gslc, a visit to my aunt Pearl at her room at the courage cottage, Morris community worship services at sr. center. SS programs at St John’s and Kongsvinger, bible study at Gs with Eystads, dinner with Pr Mike Hanson and Chuck Spohr at Detoys, lutefisk supper eagles, and advent services GS

Dec.1st-7th
Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.

Weather news: the past week has been cloudy and cold with some light snow. Think most farmers in the area are done farming for the year

St. John's/ Kongsvinger news: Joint services on December 9th at ST. John’s. The Sunday school Christmas program practice is before services with the program during the worship services at 9:30 a.m. It will be repeated that evening at Kongsvinger at 5 p.m. with fellowship and refreshments afterward at both churches.

The parish again has hat and mitten and toys for tots’ trees this year in the back of both churches. “Give cancer the boot” donation containers for the Ryan Winter’s family are available in the back of both churches until late December

St. John’s is having a raffle again this year instead of a beef dinner. The drawing will be held at 10:30 am on Dec 9th

GSLC NEWS the Sunday school program will be held during church services on December 16th, services on Christmas Eve are at 5 p.m.; Christmas day at 10 a.m.

  Other church news: upcoming activities at Faith Lutheran-Morris include: the cookie factory December 8th, 9 a.m. – noon; Sunday school program December 16th at 11 a.m.; living nativity December 24th at 3 and 5 p.m.

Cross-eyed will present a Christmas program on December 9th at 3 p.m. at Our Saviors Chokio with refreshments afterward

Jeff Brevig of St Paul passed away on November 28th; survivors include his father Andy Brevig of the Herman/Donnelly area

Don Hacker of Morris passed away on   December 3rd survivors include his son Eugene (Kay Anderson) of Hancock, she is a former Donnelly area resident. His funeral is today (Saturday) at 2 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran church-Morris
Gwendolyn Josephine Haack of Hoffman passed away on December 2nd survivors include her sister in law Arlene Gulbrandson of Morris, formerly of the Hoffman/Donnelly area

W. Berdell Skogstad of Hoffman, died on December 4th, survivors include his brother in law Bernard (Barbra Sather) of Fort Meyers Fl. She is a former Donnelly area resident

Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.
Weather news: well a somewhat lovely day on Fri. meant that a lot of snow melted but most other days have been cold. See there are still a few cornfields to be harvested yet in the area
St. John's/ Kongsvinger news: there will be joint services on December 2nd at Kongsvinger at 9:30 a.m. followed by coffee hour and Sunday school Christmas program practice. Joint services on December 9th at St. John’s with Sunday school Christmas program practice before services and the program will be presented during the worship services. It will be repeated that evening at Kongsvinger at 5 p.m. with fellowship and refreshments afterward at both churches.
November is food shelf month; donation carts are available in the narthex of both churches for nonperishable food items, the parish again has a hat and mitten tree and toys for tots this year. “Give cancer the boot” donation containers for the Ryan Winter’s family are available in the back of both churches until late December
There will be a poinsettia garden at both churches again this year contact the Parish office for more info

Weather news: several inches of snow and some cold temps the past week have made it feel very winter like around here. I think most farmers in the area have got their crops harvested and fall fieldwork done.
St. John's/ Kongsvinger news: there will be joint services at ST.  John’s on November 25th at 9:30 a.m. followed by coffee hour, no Sunday School; at on December 2nd at Kongsvinger at 9:30 a.m. followed by coffee hour and Sunday school
Services will be broadcast on the radio (KMRS) at 11 a.m. on November 25th

Walter “Sonny” Schwendemann, of Starbuck, passed away on November 19th survivors include his brother in law Andy Brevig of the Herman, Donnelly area

Nov 17th-23rd
Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.
Weather news well the past week has been winter-like with several inches of snow, cold temps and brisk winds. There are still a few corn fields out there,  needing harvesting yet, and some fields requiring some fall tillage to be finished too. Talked to my former renter he said they had good yields this year as I am writing this (Wednesday evening) we had a beautiful day and is supposed to be nice again tomorrow Thursday
St. John's/ Kongsvinger news: On November 18th at 9:30 a.m. there will be joint services at Kongsvinger followed by S.S. which will meet in the church basement (no coffee hour due to the fall festival) there will be joint services at St. John’s November 25th at 9:30 a.m. followed by coffee hour NO s.s.
Kongsvinger fall festival is on November 18th at the parish hall from 11a.m.-1 p.m. on the menu is grilled pork chops, baked potatoes, candied carrots rolls, etc.  With lots of Scandinavian goodies for sale too; tickets are available at the door.  In preparation for the festival, there will be a lefse making day today (Saturday) at 9 a.m.
Thanksgiving eve services November 21st at 7 p.m. at St John’s
There will be a poinsettia garden at both churches again this year, contact the Parish office for more info

Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news. This issue is in loving memory of my aunt Mable van Olst who passed away on November 10th, 2002
Weather news as I am writing this we have had several days of cold, rain, snow a reminder winter is not far away.  Most of the corn in the area has been harvested lot of fall tillage work has been done too
St. John's/ Kongsvinger news: There will be joint services at 9:30 a.m. at St John's on November 11th with a coffee hour and Sunday school to follow services. There will be joint services at Kongsvinger on November 18th at 9:30 a.m. followed by S.S. which will meet in the church basement (no coffee hr. due to fall festival)

Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news. This issue is in loving memory of my dad who passed away on October 31st, 2005.
Weather news: Several nice sunny days this week followed a cold, wet weekend. Farmers are making good progress getting the corn picked and fall tillage done.

 On October 28th Aria Peyton Oelke was baptized at Kongsvinger. Parents Jessica (Bergstrom) and Joe Okle, Becky Bergstrom grandmother, Irene strand great-grandmother
0n 11/11 at 11 a.m. bells will be rung at both churches in observance of the 100th aniv of the end of WW1
GSLC NEWS: PR. Horacio Castillo Echeverria will be at Gs to preach and lead adult Ed on Nov 4th. He is working to rise up pastors, in Mexico and Nicaragua

Oct. 26th-Nov 2nd
Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.
Weather news: well the beautiful sunny weather we have had the past week has allowed farmers to get back in the fields and make good progress getting the crops harvested. Most beans are done, a lot of corn has been picked too, and some farmers are already busy with fall tillage
St. John's/ Kongsvinger news: There will be joint services at 9:30 a.m. at ST. John’s on October 28th; with a coffee hour and Sunday school to follow services at Kongsvinger November 4th
On October 31st starting at 5 p.m. in ST. John’s west parking lot there will be a trunk or treat event, followed by the community Halloween party at the hall from 5:30-7 p.m.
At Kongsvinger on October 21st Bristyl Marie Searle was baptized. Brad and Crystal (Henrichs), Rollie & Deb Henrichs, Lowell and Janet, Agnes

Oct. 20-26th
Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.
Weather news: well after about a week of rain, snow, cold, etc. the sun has come out, and most farmers were able to get back in the field.
St. John's/ Kongsvinger news: There will be joint services at 9:30 a.m. at Kongsvinger on October 21st, no Sunday school and at ST. John’s on October 28th; with a coffee hour and Sunday school to follow services
On October 31st starting at 5 p.m. in ST. John’s west parking lot there will be a trunk or treat event, followed by the community Halloween party at the hall from 5:30-7 p.m.
GSLC NEWS: Dr. Neil Leroux professor emeritus from UMM will lead the adult Ed on Reformation Sunday following coffee hour
  Scandinavian heritage festival (lutefisk supper) at First Lutheran-Morris on November 7th at the church starting at 3:30 pm
Herman Red Hats will meet at "The Place to be" in Donnelly for their Halloween party on October 30th any time after 3 p.m. Ordering off the menu, and please dress up
An open house bridal shower for Alyssa Wittnebel, Bride to Be of Tom Holland, will be held today (Saturday), from 2-4 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Morris. Tom is from Donnelly; his parents are Joe and Linda Holland of Donnelly
Fall Family Fun will be held at Niemackl Park again on October 26th starting at 4:30 p.m. The park is about halfway between Donnelly and Herman
The newest AED (Defibrillator) that was purchased by Papa’s Angles was recently installed at the Captain’s bar and grill- Glenwood

Oct. 13th-19th
Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.
Weather news: most of the past week has been cloudy, cold and rainy, and as I am writing this Wednesday evening we have some light snow so it will be a while before farmers get back in the fields
St. John's/ Kongsvinger news: there will be joint services at 9:30 a.m. at ST.  John's on October 14th with Sunday school at 10:20 a.m. and at Kongsvinger on the 21st, no Sunday school.
St. John’s fall festival is today (Saturday) from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the church
Also, today (Saturday) is the Fall Bazar at Zion Lutheran- Morris and fall bake sale at Our Saviors- Chokio, both are from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Fall ham dinner Herman UM Oct 14th 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Gatherings for Widows and Widowers will meet for lunch at noon on October 14 in the basement of Old #1 in Morris.

 On October 15th the fire department meets at 7 p.m. at the Fire Hall.
The Donnelly community club is hosting the semi-annual Minnesota association of Pioneer Power shows meeting today (Saturday) starting at 11 a.m.at the Donnelly community hall

Former Donnelly area residents Joyce (Jacobson) Olson of Alexandria passed away on Oct 7th; her funeral is today (Saturday) at 10:30 a.m. at Bethel- Herman, Terry (Boener) Krenz of Bismarck ND passed away on October 4th

Weather news: well the past week has been fall like with cold temps. Suspect most farmers will either be done or just about done with bean harvest by the time you read this; I see some farmers are also picking corn
St. John's/ Kongsvinger news: there will be joint services at 9:30 a.m. at Kongsvinger on October 7th; at ST.  John's October 14th with Sunday school at 10:20 a.m. at the host church
St. John’s fall festival is October 13th from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the church
Other church news: Luther crest annual meeting is today (Saturday) at 9:30 a.m. at the camp by Alex
Gatherings for Widows and Widowers will meet for lunch at noon on October 14 in the basement of Old #1 in Morris.

 Peter Bremer head librarian at the Briggs Library will present a program how to use fire insurance maps and other maps for genealogy research; today (Saturday) from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. in computer lab 360 for more info call him at the library 589-6175.
On October 8th The Bookmobile will be in town on main st from 3:45-4 p.m. The Donnelly community club and the fire department meet at 7 p.m. at the Community and fire Halls.

Mary Gades of Morris passed away on October 2nd. Survivors include her son Barry (Donna) of Cyrus and their family. Barry is our community club president

Bristyl Marie Searle was born September 4, 2018, at Douglas County Hospital to Crystal and Brad Searle of Donnelly, MN. Bristyl weighed 8 lbs. 4 oz. and measured 21 inches long. Grandparents are Rollie and Debb Henrichs of Morris, MN and Lowell and Jan Searle of Donnelly, MN. Great-grandparents are Charlotte and Ron Castor and Agnes Searle of Morris, MN.
On October 18th from 7:00-8:30 the Rendsville 4-h club will be hosting club bingo at St. Johns, Donnelly. New members are welcome.


Past wk.: a visit to my aunt Pearl at her room at the courage cottage, MAHS homecoming parade, and game.  Services at LWLC –Alex, a visit to Ruth Strand in her apt. in Alex, The Terrace mill festival, Terrace, a meet and greet candidates’ forum at Otter Tail Republican office, Fergus. Weather news: a mild sunny weekend was bookended by rain late last and early this week. Farmers are busy picking beans; I see some have started corn harvest too.
St. John's/ Kongsvinger news: there will be joint services at 9:30 a.m. at Kongsvinger on September 30th and October 7th with Sunday school at 10:30 a.m. Kongsvinger both Sundays.

Weather news: I was out of town most of the weekend again, but as far as I know it has been sunny and mild all week. However, we have had light rain pretty much all day on Wednesday and it is still raining on Thur. am. I see some bean harvest is underway
St. John's/ Kongsvinger news: there will be joint services at 9:30 a.m. at St. John’s September 23rd; at Kongsvinger September 30th Sunday school also starts on the 23rd.

 “Papa’s Angels” (Steve Larson) 3rd annual AED fundraiser and silent auction is today (Saturday) at the place to be Donnelly, starting with the Dart tournament at 12:30 p.m., a meal at 4 p.m.
The Bookmobile will be in town on main st on September 25th from 3:45-4 p.m.

Rally Sunday will be at Kongsvinger on September 16th Sunday school open house and potluck brunch for all at 10:30 am
The threshing bee worship service will broadcast on KMRS (1230am; 107.7 FM) at 11 am on September 16th, sponsored by Rollie and Jan Greiner in memory of Paul and Eva Ersted, and grandson Jordan Hufford

Grandparents are Paul and Pam Daly of Donnelly, and Brian and Peg Kruize of Morris; Great-grandparents are Harry and Corrine Kruize of Donnelly, Glen and Nancy Koop of Morris nick and Karen Daly of Chokio

Our new threshing bee royalty is Little Miss Donnelly Bristol Paulson; Little Miss Princess Jadeyn Mau.  Bristol is the 3rd generation of her family to be threshing bee royalty. Thanks to everyone who came out to help and attend. See you next year August.24 and 25th the feature will be gas engines.

Weather news: The past week has been mostly sunny and hot with a good rain shower on Sun eve. Crops continue to look fantastic especially what I have seen at area fairs
St. John's/ Kongsvinger news: The parish will be leading the community services under the big top tent on bee grounds at 9 a.m. on August 25th. No worship services at either church that day. There will be Joint services on September 2nd at 9:30 A.M. at Kongsvinger

Threshing bee news: The Donnelly threshing bee aka our annual family reunion is this weekend; the tri-feature is Oliver, Moline, and Cockshutt. Next year’s feature will be gas engines. In October; Donnelly will be host to the semi-annual MAPS Meeting. For more info about the bee visit the website: http://www.donnellythreshingbee.com/welcome.html (just been updated) or threshing bee FB page events start this A.M. with a pancake breakfast and continue all weekend long Anyone that wishes to come up sing/play, do a demonstration etc. is welcome to do so. I will have my cart on the grounds for use by those who need a ride
The place to be in Donnelly is sponsoring events of their own today, i.e. a bike ride and dance. I assume there will be some rummage sales around town too

The second work night is on August 28th on the bee grounds to take down the fences and put things away. Remember any help, during, or after the bee is very welcome. The kiddie parade and white elephant sale are in need of helpers.

The last parade for the year for the threshing bee royalty was the cornfest parade in Ortonville on August 19th. As usual, they did a good job representing Donnelley during the year.

Aug 18-24th   

Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.

Weather news: The past week has been mostly sunny and hot.  The crops /produce I saw on display at the Morris fair looked outstanding. Understand the grain for the bee was cut and shocked last week       
St. John's/ Kongsvinger news: shared services at Kong at 9:30 a.m. on August 19th. The parish will be leading the community services under the big top tent on bee grounds at 9 a.m. on August 25th. No worship services at either church that day.
Gslc news On August 19th, Gladys Mungo from Haiti’s children will give an update on the organization during worship services at 9 a.m.; followed by a potluck dinner.
 The Chord Ayres from the Milan area will be in concert again on September 8th at 7 p.m. at the church.

Buttons are on sale at Donnelly business and Dakotah bank in Morris and Chokio.
Activities start on Friday evening with the community supper, Kids games and showing of pioneer public TV postcards show about the bee. Lots of events Saturday and Sunday too
I plan to have my cart on the grounds for use by those who need a ride

There are two upcoming work nights on the bee grounds the first is August 21st at 6:30 pm to put up fences and make other preparations for it, the second one is August 28th same place/ time to take down the fences and put things away. Aug 4th-10th

Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.

Weather news: The past week has been mostly sunny and hot, crops continue to look outstanding.
St. John's/ Kongsvinger news: the summer schedule with joint services at 9:30 a.m., at Kongsvinger on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays; St. John’s on the 2 and 4th Sundays of each month is now in effect until further notice.  You can find the schedule in the July newsletter; copies are available in the narthex of both churches or from the parish office.
Gslc news wed eve services at 7 p.m. continue until August 29th

The Herman United Methodist Women invites all the ladies of the Federated Church to our annual Ladies Day program and luncheon, on Wednesday, August 8th, at 2:00 p.m.

~Wednesday Nights are Alive (WNA) this summer at the Common Cup in Morris on Wednesday Evening’s beginning at 6 p.m. with a free meal and music with a speaker beginning at 7 p.m.  Come early and get a seat and bring along a friend!  (Speakers are from MN Youth Alive).

Schedule for the rest of the summer is:

•            August 1 – Speaker Cory Greenwood (topic:  You Matter), with guest musician DJ Kirk

•            August 8 – Speaker Kelli Patrick with guest musician Emily Cameron.

Jaden Joshua Searle was born July 14, 2018, at Stevens Community Medical Center to Marilyn and Josh Searle of Morris, MN. Jaden weighed 9 lbs. 1 oz. and was 21 1/2 inches long. Grandparents are Ace and Lois Sperr or Morris, MN and Jan and Lowell Searle of Donnelly, MN. Great-grandparents are Bertie Sperr of Morris, MN and Agnes Searle of Morris, MN.
An open house baby shower for Mitch and Bree (Kruize) Daly of Donnelly will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 11, at Zion Lutheran Church, Morris. They request that you, please bring and sign a book instead of a card.
"Options for Women's" adorable baby contest will be held during the Morris fair Aug 7th-12th.
On July 22nd the threshing bee royalty was in waterma parade in Glenwood, the queen’s brunch at Glenwood Lutheran and the watterma coronation after the parade.

July 28th-August 3rd

Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.

Weather news: Well we got about 4 inches of rain on Thursday, setting a new record for that day.  The crops produce I saw at the Glenwood and Herman fairs sure looked outstanding
St. John's/ Kongsvinger news: the summer schedule with joint services at 9:30 a.m., at Kongsvinger on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays; St. John’s on the 2 and 4th Sundays of each month is now in effect until further notice.  You can find the schedule in the July newsletter; copies are available in the narthex of both churches or from the parish office.

Registration is now open for VBS this summer which will take place at Faith-Morris July 30th- August 2nd together with Faith, First and Trinity Cyrus, contact the church office for more information. There will be a VBS kickoff dinner at Faith on July 29th at 11 A.M. The kids will have a program on August 2nd at Faith.
The annual block party will be held on July 31st starting at 5 p.m. on the west side of ST. John’s church everyone welcome

Death notice: Larry Wilke of Donnelly passed away on July 21st, survivors include his wife Peggy of Donnelly and their family and mother Pearl Anderson of Morris
Former Donnelly area resident Duane Beers of Hancock passed away on July 23rd. survivors include his brothers John (bud) (Lois) Anderson and their family and Art Anderson of Donnelly
Threshing bee news: The Donnelly threshing bee is August 25-26th tri-feature is Oliver, Moline, and Cockshutt. Next year’s feature will be gas engines. The posters are here; hope to have some by the time you read this. I also plan to leave some at McCollar jewelry.  A reminder that Donnelly will host the semiannual MAPS Meeting in October

There will be no community club meeting in July the next mtg is August 6th at city hall, after the “meet the threshing bee queen candidate’s” forum which starts at 7 p.m.
City council meets on August 5th at 4 p.m.

On July 30th the bookmobile is in town from 3:45-4 p.m.
August 6th rendsville 4-h meets at ST. John’s Lutheran Church
Starting in August the city of Donnelly will be using mail-in ballots for elections.

On July 22nd the threshing bee royalty was in Benson kid’s parade and the grant co fair parade in Herman

Mark Koepke and I visited Lou Eystad in the hospital on July 22nd she is now home.

July 21st-27th

Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.

Weather news: Well after enduring some sweltering temperatures for a while, we got some rain on Sunday, and things have cooled off some. Crops continue to look very good; some of the garden produce I saw on display at the Clinton fair looked nice too

 Elroy James Larson (David and Hannah) is the newest member of Kongsvinger. His baptism was on July 15th.

Death notice former Donnelly area resident Dorothy (Smith) Buss of Irene S.D.  passed away on July 9th. Survivors include her sister in law, former Donnelly area resident Jan (Smith) Bumgardner of Morris and some cousins in the area. her parents were the late Harry & Rachel Smith of Donnelly

July 14th-20th

Threshing bee news: The Donnelly community club is looking for volunteers to be in charge of and/or be a helper for the white elephant sale, the car show, and the kiddie parade at the threshing bee. If interested contact Corrine Kruize at 246-3337
RUSC kinship will again have a meal option at the superior rib fest at Eastside park today (Saturday.) starting at 3 p.m.

Lee (Duke) Eystad of Donnelly passed away on July 9th his funeral is today (Saturday) at ST. John’s –Donnelly.
Emmet Harstad of Barret formerly of the Donnelly/Herman area passed away on July 7th survivors include his brother George (Eliane) Harstad of Herman/Donnelly and their family and brother in law Clearance Geise of Morris formerly of Donnelly and his family
Rudy Raths of Alex formerly of the Donnelly area passed away on July 2nd survivors include his niece Mary (Jerry) Werk of Herman/ Donnelly area
Former Donnelly area resident Art Reynolds passed away on July 8th he was preceded in death by his brother Harvey of the Donnelly area.
John (Chuck) Whittemore, of Glenwood, passed away on July 10th; survivors include his daughter in law Julie of Donnelly and her family
Islande Speer is a candidate for Miss Morris

On July 7th the threshing bee royalty was in the Heritage Days parade, the queen’s tea and the Miss Minnewaska pageant in Starbuck
Past week A visit to my aunt Pearl in her room at the courage cottage, Heritage Days activities Starbuck, the Clinton 135th anniversary celebration. LL games at Wells Park, dinner with Mark Koepke at old #1 followed by a visit to my aunt Pearl in her room at the courage Cottage, Emmet Harstad funeral –Kongsvinger, customer appreciation supper -Morris dental clinic, bible study, and services at GS (w/Eystad’s)

July 7th-13th

Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.

Weather news: They say a sign of a good crop is knee-high corn by the 4th of July most of the corn around here is that and some   thanks to frequent rain showers and mild temperatures

Randy and Sashya Larson happily announce the upcoming marriage of their daughter CaliJo Larson to Brody Bahr, son of Scott and Kathy Bahr of Donnelly.

Hallie Marie Erickson was born on June 27th to Alex, and Nicole Erickson grandparents are Dean and Jerri Erickson of Chokio, Curt and Judy Gillespie of Johnson, great-grandparents are Audrey and Jim Erickson of Chokio and Vivian Bjorlin of Chokio Jerri, Judy and Vivian are all former Donnelly area residents

Former Donnelly area resident Russell Sather of Houston MN passed away on June 29th.He is survived by cousins and other family members in the area.
